Yes. www.youtube.com/alcoolaid

Reliability? High HP and reliability don't really go together with Subaru's haha. Well it can if you do the right maintenance. But high power will definitely need good cooling, built heads, and a sleeved block for sure.

Not Subaru related but a truck I bought was delivered to my house today.

2001 F350 SD 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel

Has a 6.5" lift and 37" BFGoodrich 37" A/T's on it right now. 4" exhaust, etc.

Needs some work right now. Oil cooler o-rings, rear diff pinion seal, new glow plug relay and glow plugs, etc. Maybe new injector o-rings.

Transmission was completely rebuilt just a year ago. Needs some body work too but I got it really cheap

I've heard different things about the diesel injectors and how much of a pain they are to work with. If its an injector you need to replace all of them because of the high pressure or something. Will try and find the info I was reading up on...
Glow plugs aren't too hard, but I think the harness is buried deep if it needs to e replaced. relay should be relatively easy to swap

Sweet truck tho! Don't even need to jack it up to work under it!

Yup, oil fired injectors. Runs at like 3000 psi oil pressure. The o-rings wear out on the injectors over time so you get reduced oil pressure at the injector = less fuel = run rough / bad.

Glow plugs are easy. Valve cover comes off, 10mm 1/4" deep socket and it's done. Harness inside might need to be changed but we'll see. Previous owner didn't stress it out a lot so not a lot of heat.

Yeah it's so tall I'm 6ft tall and barely see the engine standing. I need a chair to stand on then stand on the front bumper to work on it. Basically twice as tall as the subie haha

Not to mention doing an oil change on this thing takes over 4 gallons! 16 ish quarts.

8 gallons of coolant too. jesus.

haha thats why i figured id ask, cuz the track bug has infected me badly and eventually will do a build bigger than stage 2 lol...i know high hp in any car esp subarus throw reliability out the window, but relatively how track reliable is your build, as in you not like other subarus i know that going 1-2 events on a motor.

After investing a bunch of cash in our Ford, you don't have to do all injectors at once unless you plan to up the injectors to like 80hp+. Then you will need to do them all. PDR is my diesel shop and you can test \ buzz then once they are out. If they aren't gone yet, do what I do and order a product called Hot Shots stiction eliminator. It goes in the oil and helps to clean injectors.

Wait till you fill the tanks with fuel!

There is an injector rebuilder/flow tester in Richmond can't remember the name but they do flow testing before and after, o rings, new filter baskets etc for 4 was a bout 100-120.

I had a friend with a scanner do a buzz test for me. Injectors are good. I did a coolant flush as well. Looked ugly.

What oil are you running? I bought a 5 gallon pail of rotella 15w40 from Canadian tire this weekend for $57 on sale from $80. Might go back to buy some more for future use since an oil change is like 4 gallons haha.

Are you using a tuner as well? Looking at a dp tuner f6 because that's what everyone likes to use.

Also where are you getting oil filters? Ford dealer? Everyone says use oem motorcraft filter.

Haha ya it's pretty big. Drove Subaru yesterday for the first time in a while and it felt like I was in a go kart compared to the truck haha.

I use the Castrol 15 40w from Costco. As for a tuner I'm using an SCT because that is the one programmer that will tell my 6.0L that the EGR had been deleted.

Small photo shoot we had yesterday. Just all the car friends I grew up with. Some of them are selling their rides so we decided to get everyone together one last time.
