jmackoul from subaruforester.org said this.

What i'm talking about is that with the sti/wrx suspension, the upper control arm is very very close to the chasis. when and if you have over 300lbs load in back seats + a passenger, in other words, a full car, the upper control arm will actually rest on the chasis. This is because the impreza has a bent upper control arm and the forester has a straight upper control arm. This is why some people that have swapped for the sti suspension opted for a 1'' top hat lift kit front and rear. Slamming the forester isn't a mechanically sound mod unless you swap out the straight upper control arm for a bent impreza upper control arm.

I don't plan on swapping to the sti/wrx setup. Based on portbarton's (Philippines) review of them on stock springs, the dampening rate is higher and provides a slightly firmer ride, although he does emphasize that they are not a sport strut. SH owners interested in the KYB's hope to mate them with swifts as this should provide a few things:
1) a better dampening strut that is better than stock
2) a strut that can easily handle the 1'' drop from the sift springs
3) a comfortable strut
IMO, struts and springs are not the crux of ones suspension. sway bars, end links, springs, and subframe bushings are really what can make a comfortable daily driver turn like a track car.
I've not had any problems with it yet. I initially looked into the wrx control arms as they can be had pretty cheap on Ebay. I might get some down the road. The only draw back is then I've got to have another alignment. I would then have to have the powerflex bushings installed into the wrx control arms. Which is even more added expense. Then again theoretically if I went with coil overs the same thing would occur unless they were Forester specific.

Low looks so good...I'd be worried bout my fumoto valve if I went lower.I also like the fact I can scoot under my car and change the oil without ramps.

Thanks! It's coming along slowly... Still needs some springs and struts, don't want to lower it too much maybe an inch. And needs a good tune.

Yep, '11 STI sedan, no cutting and sounds great! Not to loud to wake the neighborhood, adds a nice deep rumble and no drone... And my wife likes it too, which is important since it's her daily driver...

The stock Foz system has a baffled center section (resonator) it's really restrictive compared straight thru (glasspack) and the quad mufflers. They are a lot louder then stock mufflers too, I tried different combos. Even without a tune I can tell the STI system has helped with the XT performance.

And the best part I got it for dirt cheap too.

Since I have the original system still, I thought about cutting out the resonator and putting straight pipe on it to see how it sounds. I've heard some Youtube videos of quad system with straight pipe, and is sounds very raspy, maybe too much, but hey it's free....

I used a nameless axleback from a 2010 wrx sedan. Free. Was a prototype.

Can you post up a video clip of your exhaust?

Would like to hear how it sounds on a fxt.

Sorry, I don't have any clips of the full STI exhaust, just these clips of stock, DP only and STI center with XT mufflers. I tried that for a while before adding the quad mufflers and didn't take video. I do have to say that the quads have gotten louder in the almost 2 years since i've installed them, they were brand new (under 500miles).
