How long have you been at Scott? I know of two of our Wrx guys getting orders. I had heard about a 11' and 12' STi's on base from a friend of mine, but I didn't know anyone with one when I left. I'm down for cruises and meets. Do you all hit up the STLSubaru group meets?

I have been here since October. I'm probably the 2011 wrx you heard about lol. Yeah I'm very active with STLSubaru and we have cruises all the time. There is a HUGE meet this summer. Here is the link to the info.

Yeah I've already registered for this meet. I think I was like one of the first ones back when registration went up. I'm part of the Chitown Subaru group. And I'm down for cruises/meets when I get back. I'll shoot you a pm

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of hearing "Thank you for your service?"

When I joined the Army in 1981, the military was still enduring the post-Vietnam slump and was not held in high regard. My friends thought I'd gone nuts, gotten busted, etc. This was right when Reagan was elected and by 1985 when I got out, things were much better but people didn't really go out of their way.

I feel bad for the Vietnam vets who got spat on or otherwise abused, and it breaks my heart to see a guy who has been badly wounded or when I attend a funeral.

But while well-meaning, this is starting to bug me. Go be a good citizen, raise good kids, pay your taxes, live a good life. This pro-forma statement isn't working for me. Now get off my lawn......

I'll never get tired of it....with all the negativity in the world today it is nice to hear someone voicing their appreciation occasionally

I'm still fairly new to the military so it's weird to hear it still. I imagine when I deploy (in the not-so-distant future) it'll be different.

Are you saying that the military is held in high regard at present time? Are you the type of guy to wear an Army shirt, or your uniform to Wal-Mart? How would anyone compliment you on your service if you didn't say something first.
