Had a 2002 GSXR 1000 for a couple of years, man what a thrill! Still miss that bike, but I have no business on a bike that wild anymore. I went without a bike for several years while I got in a better financial standing and got married. Then I bought a 2009 Harley Fat Boy and then I traded it back in for the Denim Black 2011 Street Glide. Radio, ABS and cruise. Love the Street Glide! Problem is my work keeps me busy so I never get out to ride, and I don't know anyone local that rides. I got it new and it only has around 1800 miles on it, it's pathetic I know. Some day I'll ride it more and put a full exhaust on it

The 2009 Fat Boy when I traded it in

But at 40 up a flight of stairs in a wheelie
I know your point, light front end and speed don't mix. But with decent suspension you can adjustments a lot of it out. The SVX is a dirt bike frame, light weight and will go 130. It had head shake at over 70 my buddy would be racing it.

I rode my friends DR650 and while not as solid as a sportbike in the front, it was not bad at 90mph.

On a supersport, 130+ was easy cheesy, on the monster i feel like im going to fly off the back at 100, even when tucked!

That being said, south of 70. esp since the 14t front sprocket, this is the best bike ive ever owned.

That was what Jc complained about on his.

I tore it up this morning, cruised around 105 on the speedo, probably around 90-95ish with the corrections, felt pretty good. I need one of those nerdy alienesque aero helmets, haha

Yeah the 650 is pretty different from the 400supermoto. A lot better if you are going to be doing 65-70 all the time and only want a little lighter duty off road (not huge ruts, not too tight/twisty)

Does yours have the little shield over the light? Make a big difference from what I hear.

Maybe that is what I am talking about. Like a half windshield.

I still want to see it. Joe and a bunch of guy are going to ride to the races in Decatur on the 14th. It's like 5 or 10$ I will have some beer and pulled pork, like the classic races we went to.

58mph on flat ground.

I'll ride on the back of your bike, then we can switch.
I will go slow I swear.

Thinking about one of these.

You can get a lot of bikes for 2k but age, mileage and top speed will be the limiting factors.

Check them on CL and set the top price to 2k.

What a great weekend! I just put a new racetech suspension on my Triumph Sprint, and was too sick of the boring, regular freeway commute, so I took off for a long weekend in the Ozarks & Northern Arkansas! Despite some cold & rain on day 1, it was basically 4.5 days & 1600 miles of pure fun! This is the first time I have swapped out a stock suspenion, and I can't believe the difference (wish I had done it 35k miles ago).

If y'all haven't been riding in northern Arkansas, I can't recommend it highly enough. IMO, those roads are better than anything I have found in the TX Hill Country or even Colorado. Very few super-tight hairpins on my routes (third gear was as low as I ever needed to go), with many roads cambered PERFECTLY. The pavement on every road I took was in fantastic shape- not any chipseal or gravel- and traffic ranged from very light to nonexistant. Loved hearing that triple sing up & down the hills! Such a shame to come back to the long, flat, straight roads of home...

My new bike got here today. 2002 Honda Sadow Sabre. 7800+ miles, Vance and Hines exhaust, lots off added chrome, custom pegs and bags. I took off the windshield because I'm not a 50 year old man.

Sounds mean as hell and rides like a dream. I couldn't be happier with it.

Man, I love how this bike looks and rides. It's actually pretty fast for a 600 pound cruiser because the gearing is ridiculously aggressive.

The SV is about to go up for sale. I wish I could keep it, but I don't have the room. Three cars and two bikes is too much for my garage and driveway. But I'm going to miss that thing. Great bike.

Davenow,

Would you trust that DRZ to commute on a tollway?

If anyone has or knows of someone with an 03 ish cbr/gsxr 600-750 I am going to be in the market soon. Color isn't an issue nor is it being laid down. As long as it looks ok and is mechanically sound. It's gonna be my new daily.

Please pm me because I do not check nasioc regularly.

Bah, forget those. You should buy my 05 SV650s that's about to go up for sale. I drove it daily for the past two and a half years and it was wonderful.

How does it compare performance wise to a rocket? I'm assuming it is more Comfy too.

Top end is lower, but it's lightweight and a torque monster. Dry weight on it is 376 pounds, and it will out corner most four cylinder crotch rockets because of that. It's still very fast, but in that torquey, v-twin way. Much more comfortable than a regular sport bike too since you're not as crouched over.

Mine is yellow and does have high mileage at nearly 40,000, but it runs like a champ. Comes with the front fairing, which I removed when I added an Aztec 8 front light, an M4 slip-on exhaust, and brand new front and rear tire and battery. Also has a lot of little add on things that I won't list here because the list is long.

I've personally done all the maintenance since I've owned it. My price is $1350 firm because I'm not an idiot and I know it's high mileage.

This is basically what it looks like now.

EDIT: Forgot to add that the previous owner (Frank, back me up on this, because I think it was the previous owner) laid it down at relatively low speed, but there isn't much damage. Just a small scrape on the exhaust can. It's never been down or damaged with me.
