What shock is it? Might be worth sending it to Push. I had my rear Fox RP2 rebuilt by them and it was soooo much better after.

Anyone up for a ride this Saturday? I could do any of the local trails. I'm still terribly out of shape though.

Fountainhead? Laurel Hills? Anything down there is good to go for me. Just name the time. Weather looks great!

Of course, I am dependant upon the pivot pin arriving from MN for my brake levers. Damn thing fell out after 15+ miles at Rosaryville on Sunday. The part left Minneapolis today, so I'm hoping it hits my doorstep Friday and not Saturday, like USPS is "estimating".

Worst part is my bike looks brand new only rode one season in the woods. Most other times riding on the road.

Well...you could just a get a new fork, but what you'd pay for a decent fork already puts you about halfway to a decent bike. Other issue that almost any new fork is not going to have post mounts for cantilever brakes (which I'm assuming you bike has, but the look of that fork).

I found a guy that rebuilds the older shocks www.hippietechsuspension.com. I have been told by a couple bike shops to send it to him.

Meh. I still say upgrade. Shock technology has come a long way since that Mag 21. It's not worth spending the money to rebuilt a shock that old. IMO

I'd like to get in on this, I got a new bike last year but haven't had a chance to take it on any trails yet. I'd need to stick to the easy trails for a bit though haha.

I'm definitely planning on hitting the trails this weekend. My schedule is still up in the air so it could be Sat or Sun.

I'd really like to go out to Fountainhead, but may only be able to complete the first loop in my condition.

I'll check back in late tomorrow morning to see if anything firms up.

Wakefield Park is pretty newb friendly in my opinion. It offers a good mix of beginner to intermediate trails.

I would also check out www.trailfu.com for other local trails. I've found the majority of the spots I frequent on there and the information on them is pretty helpful.

Damn, if I didn't have family visiting and two papers to write I'd have been there.

Just found this thread too...pretty cool.

I usually ride Fountainhead, but I try to get out to Gambrill, the watershed, Patapsco, Elizabeth Furnace, and Kennedy Peak when I can...much better riding once you get out of nova.

Awesome thread. I would like to join. A little out of shape from the winter cardio wise - not sure if I'm ready for Fountainhead. Wakefield / Accotink sounds like a good start.

I plan to hit up Wakefield or Fountainhead in the afternoon today (Saturday).

I may also be up for some riding Sunday if things don't get to hectic.
