Default Sti intercooler

Hey guys have a few quick questions about an sti intercooler. First what would be a good price for a used one? 200-300? Next how much performance if any would I see with my 02 wrx?

$50, and you wont notice a difference unless you are doing some other mods and tuning.

200-300$ depending if it comes with the Y pipe and condition (I recommend buying one with y pipe)

wouldn't really notice any performance unless you upgrade some other parts with it.

I know some of the sought after STI parts are in demand but seriously, if you shop around you should be able to pick one up under $100 easy. save the rest for some other go fast parts.

Looks at join date

You're not going to find an Sti Intercooler for $100 and you're most definitely not going to find one for $50.

I've had someone from our local meet offer one to me for 200. That's low. A brand new one from Subaru is 560.

You are already stage 2. You just need a tune. Estimated crank HP of a stage 2 is 270. Wheels is probably more like 225. It varies between cars.

You have not read the sticky threads at all. We do not price out parts here ever. Reason for this is you get responses from $0 to full retail and everything inbetween....buy parts at what you are willing to spend. We don't estimate HP here ever as that's super dumb....its like asking us how hot your sister is....like parts cost, you'll get responses all over.

Sorry uny, just curious... Don't understand why mods always need to rip newbs to shreds instead of sharing knowledge, i haven't seen any threads on this in my quick search.
Anyways can anyone let me know how much of a difference it would make to spend what I'm guessing is a couple hundred dollars on a tune, or if I should just leave my car as is runs perfect just looking for a little more get up and go.(doesn't feel like I would think roughly 250hp would be, comparing to other cars I've driven.)

If you get it tuned it will feel better. You NEED a tune. The car won't run quite right. Read Unabombers Manifesto, a **** ton of info in there.

That seems a little low for stage 2. I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 240-250 whp

Ya definatly going to get a tune ASAP just a matter of money. I think I read somewhere it was going to be about 400$... Seems like a lot of dough for a tune. I'm not even sure that the previous owner didn't get a tune lol. Don't see how much of a difference a tune can be with me already having all the parts on. my car is awesome but doesn't feel like it's getting around 240whp, not much faster in a straight line then my Chevy Colorado

get a tune before you spend money on the intercooler. Having the parts is nice but that doesn't mean they are all working as efficiently as they should. You are now moving more air through your motor than stock and need proper fuel and timing to burn the air in an effective manner.

Not only will you benefit with a gain from more power but you will end up not blowing up your motor. These motors are very picky and need a tune after almost every air changing mod.. Do your research and take the advice posted above and read unabombers manifiesto. There is more knowledge in that than you will get from most replies nowadays. Good luck.
