Go to any running store.

Brooks are generally a good brand.

Just start it slow and scaled and ramp it up slowly. Don't be in a big rush to make it happen in 3 months. It took me 6-8 months before I was doing wods as Rx on a regular basis.

Good luck and have fun! Are you working out at Hybrid with Rob Orlando?

i go to a CF gym but i also do WOD's at home and i use an app called WODbox which is awesome since it generates random wods for you.

Just found out there is a box FIVE minutes from my house!!! So psyched. I have to get over a PITA hip injury, and then I have an unusually bunched up amount of travel for the next month or so. After that, coincidentally very close to school ending, too (won't have to worry about seeing my son off to school early, box's weekday WODs are 5:30am), I hope to become official and starting getting more exposure to CF equipment and exercises (wall balls, rope climbs, rowing, some oly lifts, etc.).

13.5 looks disgustingly bad. My fastest Fran is 4:11. I almost don't want to get under 4:00

crazy. considering my horrible Fran time, i have no chance in hell to make it past the first 4 minutes so at least it will be a short one.

I'm in Danbury at the Danbury CF. I'm not in a rush to get my time at a certain level, only to transform my body a bit. I'm L1 modified. It just sucks because I never worked out my legs with weights before and I'm 26. I just ran a bunch so right now, my legs and ass are ridiculously sore. My diet is almost perfect. I cut out smoking, drinking and soda. I'm looking to lose the beer gut and build up my upper body. I think 2 months or so will do me a lot of good.

Thought the same thing "Congrats on being sub 4:00, you win another 4:00 of hell". The CTB (as well as comp level form) should slow alot of people down. See ing the scores Froning and Camille put up are mind bottling.

I know it's Fran-like, but very hard to compare, no? Fran is 21-15-9, without requiring chest-to-bar, while 13.5 is 15-15-15 (-15-15-15....), but does require chest-to-bar. I think it depends on your strengths as to whether you'll do this faster or slower than you do Fran?

Yeah I think you need to be at 3-3:15 Fran to realistically think you can get 90 reps with CTB pullups in 4:00. I would be shocked if anyone with a Fran slower than 3:30 gets there.

Agree, although with stretching, foam roller, lacrosse balls, and massage it gets better. Now my legs feel dead (like no power) the day after a heavy leg workout, with some moderate soreness. Walking lunges kill my arse, but even now I'm rarely super sore for more than a day. But it's a good sore--with diet and consistency, I hope for someone to look at me at know I CF by the shape of my arse eventually.

I took 11 days off for vacation and haven't been back to foam rolling like I should and am more sore than I used to be. Not good since my first obstacle course race is Saturday.

Crossfit has never endorsed that in the 7 years I've followed it

What that is, is an ill equipped box overreaching and trying to be creative while putting their members at physical risk, not to say crossfit doesn't condone some stupid ****, but that's off the radar
