Default Subaru comes through!

So, I had posted a problem I had with my new (to me) '08 STI in the 2.5l discussion area. Read here:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2486433

I wanted to share the resolution here. The dealer where I bought the car from (Grand Subaru in Bensonville, near Chicago) ended up contacting SOA. SOA stepped up big time, and offered to pay to replace the turbo (minus $250 "deductable")even though the car was out of Subaru's warranty. Grand Subaru then offered to pay the $250 so there is zero out of pocket on my part.

I have to say, Grand Subaru, and SOA have really impressed me, after my Zurich warranty completely let me down. (I will be having it cancelled and refunded).

Just thought I'd share.

Yeah it seems SOA comes through to help people out that deserve it. If you try to hide mods and blow your engine, they aren't so willing. It's interesting hearing the case by case decisions they make.

Congrats on getting the car back up and running!

Awesome of Grand to get that handled for you!

SoA has always been willing to help honest and polite customers in my experience.

lesson learned on those aftermarket warranties. We were approached by that some vendor but decided to stick with only the genuine Subaru Added Security plans for the same reasons you were let down by yours.

Big thumbs up to SoA and Grand for doing the right thing!

+1 for SOA. I see so many complaints about people having mods, speculation of dealers potentially giving owners a hard time, etc... it almost gives dealers and SOA a bad reputation without them even being involved.

Glad to see things worked out for you.

Yeah, I generally don't modify my vehicle, though I may get an accessport for this car after reading that the factory tune is lean.

I could not be happier with the outcome. Grand Subaru and SOA have earned my business for sure. I'm certain that many other Subaru dealers also treat their customers right.

Good to hear! I have a Fidelity extended warranty and had the same thing happen and they covered everything with no issues!
