OMGHi2U Maui Condo!

Yo peeps,

Just wanted to give you guys the heads up that my wife and I, along with my sister and her husband, have purchased a condo in Kihei, Maui!

We will be renting it out so if you (or anyone you know) are ever heading over that way and need a great 2 bed, 2 bath, please be sure to check it out!

Cheers,

Jay

Kihei is my favorite place in all of Hawaii... very laid back but still lots of amenities. Congrats on the purchase.

What's the VIC discount?

edit: I stayed half a block north of your place last year, awesome location too

Thanks, Wicked!

Yes, Kihei is def the best place to stay in Maui, and most of Hawaii. It's dry, quiet, but still busy enough to not get bored.

There is a reason why all of Kihei is basically owned by Canadians

Lahaina is nice, more resorts and the beach is not as accessible. I guess it depends what you like. I can't say enough about Kihei, nice change from Waikiki. (there's a nude beach about 15 mins south too if thats your thing
Do the road to Hana and the sunrise at Haleakala!

Hi slowguy, I've been going to Maui for 30+ years so I can provide some helpful insight into Maui for you!

Lahaina is basically a tourist destination. It's one main street/drag with shops and restaurants on each side. (Think of Banff Ave).

It's not really a place where you would really want to stay on your vacation. It is a great plase to visit for the day/afternoon!

That being said, the two main areas which are best to actually stay at would be Kihei, Waila, or Kaanapali. Kaanapali has the bigger hotel chains where Kihei is more of the Condo living.

As others have said, the further South you go on the island, the dryer/nicer the weather is.

Hope that helps!

Ya, the nude beach is like walking into a 1970's hippy porn set... But, I guess if you like the jungle, you'd fit right in

jaydow- that helps! I'll have to discuss now with the GF. We were recommend lahaina by her friend but maybe I'll look into Kihei (we were hoping to have a place with a kitchen/kitchenette).

Cheers!

Lahaina certainly has more things to do in terms of touristy stuff. When I was in Maui last Oct I found myself going there for a lot things. I was staying in Wailea and spent much of my relaxation time in Kihei itself. It is truly a gorgeous place to chill out at.

You should definitely rent a car if you weren't thinking of it already. The road to hana, word of advice, make sure you're on full guard going to the black sands beach. There are a ton of ass clowns that don't understand what road signs mean.

Bring warm close if you do the Haleakala sunrise, I froze my ass off up there

Hey Jay what's the rate per week?

I was at Kaanapali last spring and want to go back to Maui next spring or does it have to be done through online booking?

Stayed at Kaanapali Shores last time and it was $110/night during spring break and it was right on the beach.

Keep in mind it's a 2 bed & 2 bath. There are a lot of units (in our complex anyway) that are 2bed but only 1 bath.

At the moment (as this may/will change in the future)

Low season: $150/night
High season: $220/night

If you get another couple to go with you, it's SUPER CHEAP!

I LOVE Maui! Might need to be contacting you about renting your place for a week in September. Kihei is a great location!
