Default Chicagoland, what subaru dealers are mod friendly?

Hey guys,

Just bought a 2013 wrx hatch and I'm planning on going stage 1 after the 1000 break in. My concern is that if something in the engine/transmission were to break or malfunction that the dealer would consider my warranty void since I had flashed the ecu. I have heard that it really depends on the dealership whether or not they will consider your mods as reason to void your warranty. Any one know of a dealership that is general lax on modifications?

I know that most people may say you will have less chance of any engine problems( mainly serious issues with ring land failure) with an cobb AP tune over the stock tune, but I would hate to have just bought a new car and then have to pay to replace the engine because of warranty issues. Any input would be helpful!

I switched my service from highland park to grand, they seem fantastic. I haven't done any power train modification besides an axleback, but I was told a tune could have possible claim denial depending on what the problem is.

Theyve performed quite a bit of warranty work that coud have been definitley if not certainly caused by mods.

Cobb Ap with Torqued Performance map, and very noticeable mods in the engine bay. Everything is red lol

Would they deny any claims if I were to get just an AP? (Sorry not trying to thread jack, seems like a similar question). Or should I just ask them

Depends. When i was having some coolant issues when I took it to them for the first time (bought my car there) I laid everything out on the table. Brought my Ap, and told them straight up everything I had done and what my car was tailored for mod wise.

Honesty goes a long way, and I believe thats part of the reason they were accomodating. That and the fact i didnt have any catestrophic failures either. But as always its at their discretion. If your 18, get it towed in with a blown engine or trans and have an Ap they'll probably tell you to pound sand.
