Since your car is completely stock, you shouldn't be looking to upgrade the up-pipe right now. Get better tires first.

I'd love to have an up-pipe myself. I'm not sure which are the best ones, though I know Don Beyer of Alexandria, sells the turboxs up-pipe, and will install it for you. I was advised that the up pipe is the biggest pain in the butt mod to install, so it'll proably cost you around $150-200 just to install it. Then you may have exhaust leaks afterward.

Although I've never met him, I've heard many good things about TaiChih doing installs. It seems he is king around here for installations.

Do you know if you can use the same gaskets and bolts.. or if it is best to buy new ones before install?

bolts will be fine, but you need to buy new gaskets if the pipe doesn't come with them.

as much as i want to start modding.. its probably not smart right now. Plus i cant seem to find much info on ravspec. i would hate to blow $99 on an up pipe that sucks.. when i could get a much better one for $100 more. MUST STOP FROM PULLING WALLET OUT OF POCKET!

you just got the car so take your time, read reviews, and make the choices you will be most satisfied with.

ravspec is a decent company. I got my grill from them, with no complaints, and I've heard good things about the craftsmanship of their splitters.

I think they are a little late in answering emails though.

Yeah - you definitely want to drive it around stock for a while so you know your baseline. I hardly even listen to the radio anymore so I can hear all the goofy noises the car makes. I would figure out how good those Tiger Paw things are and act accordingly...

plunk: Don Beyer does *installs* of TXS stuff? I knew they had good prices on their stuff but that'd be pretty nice if they do installation too.

Yep . I spoke with Henry on the phone once. I asked about the UTEC, and he said they do install that for $50, however he said its so easy, he would show me how to, and let me do it myself. He did say that the Up pipe would cost upwards of $150, and threw in a blurb about replacing the oxygen sensor if it was needed. I think the mechanics do the installs as side work there. I'm not sure of their craftsmanship, though from all the good things I hear about them, I'd probably give them a try.

Default For what it is worth

For what it is worth I have the TXS up-pipe and I have had no issues with it that I know of and the response has been nice...

TaiChi did my work and I will totally back that guy. He did an AWESOME job and not only that he is REALLY picky about what he does. I mean he worked on stuff until it was perfect unlike many other people out there.

SO, for what it is worth the TXS is not bad... and TaiChi is freaking stellar. He has done my TXS axle back, TXS up-pipe, EGT, Oil pressure, A/F, made the face plate for the OEM subaru housing I bought, showed me install of TXS unichip, Samco IC hoses, TXS RFL, etc... TaiChi is da man!!

Henry Has all my business right now.. I talk to him quite often and no his word is good. I don't know how much of the work he actually does himself but I know he helped a guy install the TurboXS FMIC. and he installed my Axleback very cheaply....
