End of the riding season's coming. But this is also some of the best riding time in New England!

I am! I sold both my bikes this winter (2012 CBR250R and 1994 CBR600F2). I'm waiting on a few things before I put a deposit down on my next bike (2013 Ducati Hypermotard). The unveil for the new bike is on the 26th/27th (depending on which dealer I choose) and I'm hoping to get one right around then, probably going to put a pre-order in to get one in my name before they come in. I'm really anxious to ride again...

Hoping to get mine out soon. I joined the bagger crowd last year with a new leftover 2010 yamaha stratoliner deluxe. Would love to get new exhaust on it ASAP. too quiet for my taste.

I dislike everything that the harley brand has come to stand for.

If you see a green blur go by anyone of you while you're on the "Hog" try a wave. I might have enough time to see you in the rear view

Harley has just turned into paying more for belonging to a 'club' .. of losers imho.. and you are factually paying more for the name than tech on the actual bikes. That's a horrid way to run a company. Again... just imho.

I just picked up another bike a week ago. It's an 09 SFV650 Gladius. One owner with 7300 miles that I picked up from a local dealer. Already installed frame/swingarm sliders and bar end mirrors are on the way. Took off a few of the smaller plastics as well. I will also be removing that awful Suzuki airbrush on the tank.

Nice bike!

I can't wait for the season to start! I just got off the phone with Seacoast Sport Cycle and pre ordered my new bike, really excited now, just have to wait for the shipment to get in!

Who wants to get some riding in this summer? I'd love to meet up and ride with some people, none of my friends ride

Eh... I feel as though there are plenty of products out there where you are paying for the name than the R&D put into the product.

If people want to ride an HD, fine by me. If they want to ride a DS, a sportbike, a cruiser, a cafe racer... whatever, fine by me.

Two wheels is two wheels, right? Sometimes I'll even wave to scooter riders just to throw them off their game.

This is why sport bike riders get a bad rap. Well, Harley riders as well. "Psh... whatever. My bike is faster..."

Same here, except there's no scooter riders near me. I've never really understood why people get so involved in the "politics" of the whole riding thing. We're all on two wheels, be friendly to each other

I will say however...Harley riders in my area aren't bad at all, it's the out of state groups that come through my area that are all jerks. I wave to guys with NH plates all the time and get waved back to, no issues. When I see a group of 20 Harleys from Mass. come through town I rarely get a single one to acknowledge me.

Also, my town has loads of twisty and sought after roads in and around it, it's also a large tourist town. PLEASE if you're coming here to ride my roads, understand that I want to ride them too!! If you're up here on your bagger to roll through and look at the scenery that's awesome, welcome! But if I come up on your and you don't let me go by... baggers do this ALL THE TIME. I get behind them and they slow way down in the corners and hammer it out of the corner onto the straights and I can't/won't pass them because it's stupid. Pull over if another rider comes up behind you, I've let plenty of faster riders pass me, baggers and sportbike riders, and a load of ADV guys too.

I ride a sportbike. But I agree, I'm tired of all the squids in my area...there's one idiot who rides around in green shorts/boxers within nothing else on, sometimes a green helmet...on his green Kawasaki, complete with green brake fluid hugger and I wouldn't be surprised if he had green LEDs, I just don't see him at night.

I dunno, In my experience as a short time Harley rider I never had any issues with anyone. No one was ever rude to me or I never met any other rider that gave me dirty looks other than my friends. Which was annoying in itself.

I'm more partial to sport bikes being my age and the thrill of the ride. I too dislike squids who ride in shorts and tee shirts. It's infuriating, but hey, your body, not mine. I'm not a victory fan simply for the fact all of their bikes look identical minus the Judge and high ball. For the most part.

As far as respect, I'll throw a wave to anyone making an effort to get out on two wheels.

Edit: I'm down for riding! I'm located in SE Mass!

My bike is slower than almost all of the people here. I'll bet you each countless amounts of money on that

I couldn't agree anymore with you man. I went to school in RI. I waved at countless scooters/mopeds even the occasional segway

I've gotten flipped off, and almost run off the road by a group of harley riders around here before. Needless to say I've not become fond of the entire group because of this one instance. Is it a good way for me to form my opinion? No. Do I care? Nah. SportBikes>Harleys
Motorcycles>Cars (takes a significantly large amount of talent/guts to ride)
If you want to ride a big cruiser, power to you. Just don't bully people who ride solo and not in a 'gang'

I say all bikes suck in their own ways, kids on street bikes are a road hazard and Harley riders are going to ruin your day. Lose lose situation here.

Cool, I'll have to remember this thread and send you a PM later in the season and maybe get a small group thing going. I really want to do more group riding this summer.

I remember last summer I got stuck behind a literal gang of Harley riders, they all had matching leather vests with some tough sounding name from Rhode Island. The funny part was there was one guy on a sport bike from like the 80s which was ridiculously skinny...and he happened to be the widest guy in the group .They were honestly the worst riders I've ever seen though, I saw a few of them lock up their rear brakes going down a hill on one of the roads I frequent. I started riding last year and have never locked my brakes up on that road, I also can get from one side of the hill to the other in about 1/3 the time it took them.

I wouldn't say it takes talent to ride, it takes talent to keep riding though.

Most problems seem to happen when you get a large number of any style of riders, other than ADV guys maybe. Groups of Harleys seem to think they own the roads and don't care about other riders/drivers, and large groups of sportbikes also seem to think they own the road except they just do stupider crap most of the time...like split cars on the highway at 130 MPH.

If this was in the Cali forums you would have guys yelling at you that it's legal to lane split there. (Given proper speeds/traffic conditions) I don't split lanes. Too many mothers in minivans yelling at their damn kids to shut up in the back seat while they drive>not paying attention

A good responsible sport bike rider never splits lanes or cuts cars in traffic. All of my sport rider friends would never do that. It takes a true asshat to do something like that. For the reasons mentioned above. There are just way too many people on the road who are careless.

I have waved to him, I just can easily spot him now and don't bother, he's a squid and doesn't want anything to do with any other riders who don't squid it up with him I suppose!

I started riding on sport bikes and after losing 2 friends to them i decided to make the switch to harleys. My streetglide is one of the best bikes ive ever ridden. Not the fastest or the best handling but the ride is like nothing else. People that hate on harleys most likely have never ridden one or understand the diffrence between a cruiser and a sport bike. You havent lived until your crusing down the highway on something as comfortable as your couch with tunes cranked loving life.
