Could you add a small switch, on the panel that has the gauge cluster brightness knob? I did it that way on my old scion.

You mean an independent switch for the fogs? That could be done I am sure, but I will have to do more research in how to get it done and what options there are. Having a small switch there is a good spot for sure.

From what I've read, its because your only allowed to have 4 lights on at once on the front of your car. When your fogs and low beams are both on and you then turn on your high beams, your fogs automatically turn off. I guess if you had independedt control of the fogs then they wouldnt auto turn off when you put your high beams on.

I also want to find a way to turn the fogs on without the headlights b/c I think thay look sick. But I havent found a good DIY either, they all look pretty messy. It would be cool to find a way to do it and reuse the factory fog switch.

I understand why the fogs turn off when the high beams turn on. I meant why didn't subaru allow you to run the parking lights and be able to turn the fogs on. The DRL bulbs are running at a low wattage and same with the fog bulbs. There is nothing wrong with running 4 lights on at once. Just not able to have 4 lights on while the brights are on, that is why the fogs turn off. I was able to run the park lights (corner/blinker lights) only and turn the fogs on/off in the M. Just wondering why Subaru didn't do this from the factory. It's a nice option to have to run different light setups/looks.

Doing some thinking...

With my want to get a bit more volume by getting a nameless, I started thinking of just getting an Invidia catted DP and going to stage 2. It would definitely give the greddy a better sound and not to mention the added power. However, it does raise a concern for me since I want to keep the car reliable. I know plenty of members are running a stage 2 with no issues, but again, I am not looking for crazy power. I would be doing the DP 97% for a better sound, not the power. I would most likely be using the Cobb AP Stage 2 tune since I already have it, which is said to be at 18psi. I pushed 17.5 PSI with the stage 1 before I loaded the Stage 1 LWG map to lower the boost. Or, I can just go with the TP stage 2 map and have Eric at TP work the maps a bit to give me what I want and not go crazy on the boost.

I guess my question is if going to stage 2 is smart considering the reasons why I want to go to a stage 2 (sound, not power). Also, FWIW I hardly go into full boost. Maybe like 1-2 times a week I row through the gears on the way home from work. However, I mostly drive conservatively like everybody else on the road. Just wanted to see what people think and get some feedback.

For me, I wouldn't mess with that until my warranty expired. You never know. To each his own

I feel like that's a pretty heavy risk to take just for sound. Your right plenty of people do it and there just fine, but this is your car, you have to be perfectly okay with running into a possible warranty claim. What about the nameless muffler delete, I'm sure that's plenty loud lol

My dealer told me they always look at the bolts on the downpipe to see if it was messed with for warranty problems. I am waiting for stage 2 till then. I got time...

I've heard that as well. I just want my car to look and sound nice. I don't think I'll even go stage 1. Maybe when I become more advanced at driving a manual transmission I'll look into doing autox and some power mods.

Suspension and brake upgrades will help you in autox. People in cars with 140hp but good driving and good suspension and brakes will own a guy with 350whp who is lacking in these.

I've got it! Sell me the GReddy and get the Nameless. Win-win Side note for exhaust followers, GReddy is discontinued and from what I can tell, sold out just about everywhere.

Joking aside, I agree with the above. I would wait on the dp.

Thanks for the feedback fellas! I am in the same mindset as you guys as I don't want to make the car unreliable and something that I have to worry about.

The nameless muffler delete would be just way too loud even though I'm sure I'd love it.

I'm getting closer and closer. If I had the car in my garage I probably wouldn't be able to wait any longer...Now I just need Subaru to crank up production.

A friend directed me towards this YouTube video (http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=AnYFs...%3DAnYFs6OpGGs). I got a chance to mess around with it his afternoon and I got to say I am actually impressed how well it improved the sound quality. Gave the whole stereo a fuller sound. Give it a try!

just went through your entire thread while at work xD (yes work on a Saturday is no fun)

just wanted to comment on the awesome job that you have done with the car. don't remember if anyone asked or if this was in your plans or not but what about a lip? I find that a lip just changes the entire look of the front end on our cars.

Boo work on Saturday! Thanks man, I appreciate that! Yes I have plans to get a front lip, but it's one of those things I will do later on when I got the main stuff done. I want to get the more noticeable/beneficial mods done that change the entire dynamic of the car rather than putting a piece of plastic on the front of the car that will do little to nothing for it. They definitely do give the front end a nice look, but I'd rather focus on suspension and a proper wheel setup at the moment. When the time does come, I plan on going with the CS Style lip.

I know, right!? I was pretty doubtful that the OEM HU would give off some decent sound since I think it is one of the worst OEM systems I've ever heard, but since seeing the video and messing around with it, it actually sounds pretty decent now! Not the best and still plan to do a different stereo setup in the future, but this is definitely a nice surprise from basically pressing a few buttons. Definitely helps make it bearable.

haha for sure. are you going with the HPT CS lip? if so, might need a little working around to make it fit perfect. I found mine to be a little short on one end and had to play around with it to make it fit. one side is flush with the wheel well but the other side had about and inch gap from where the lip ended and the wheel well. tried everything i could to get it to line up right. Don't know if it was just the piece that I had.

have you decided on your exhaust conundrum? I'm still waiting for my Nameless catback and for the snow to melt so I can throw on the summer rims...

There has been a thread on this in the stereo section for a while. Did it right away and it saved me from buying a new headunit. With all new speakers and a 10" sub and through mode, I am happy.

I've never really looked into brand yet. Just know I like the cs style lip the best out of them all.

Right now, I still have the greddy and only selling if I get my asking price. Otherwise, I have no problem keeping it.

I was unaware of the secret tuning options. Sounds worlds better now. May have to look into better speakers too. Which ones did you go with?

I didn't go crazy on speakers, I used kicker one or two steps above their entry level. I spent my money on my amp, JL 300x4 XD. It's amazing
