What flare tool did you use? Did you ever take the manifold off and take pic's?

Thanks!

Yes it lives and yes I need to post video's I have about 6 videos for this thread so far.

1-6 videos are:
First fire
Set/check timing
Mild driving
10psi 2k-5k pulls
15psi with 7* of timing
Rowing thru the gears at 22psi with 9* of timing

I already have 1600ish miles on the motor and will be updating very soon and on the stock turbo it is a nasty little fu**er.

As of now I am trying to get the driveability tuning done EX: cold starts, hot starts, idle, AVCS tuning ect, ect.

So I will update ASAP, but may need help uploading the video. I am a retard when it come to that sh**.

Lots of oil changes?
Were those new valves covers or did you sand blast them? I worry about blast material sticking the oil relief in the oil pump. So if they were sand blasted, LOTS OF OIL CHANGES for a few thousand miles.

^^^ They where soda blasted then hot tanked then I cleaned them out with parts cleaner then they were powder coated then I cleaned them out one lat time.
I made it absolutely clear that no sand, glass, steel ect. ect. would be used only baking soda just incase if any remained it would basically just melt away.

Also I changed my oil:
After 20min of first fire
After 100miles
After 500miles
After 1000miles
After 1500miles
Soon to come 2000miles
Soon to come 2500miles with synthetic twin remote oil filter setup and my race oil cooler setup.

My stock unported VF39 is on my hoopde right now. Redline is 7500 just for this turbo because it looses steam beyond 6500rpm, but from what I am seeing is full boost (22psi) by 3200rpm. As of now based on VDR (boooooo) I am making 410tq 390hp with 9* of timing and no real AVCS tuning... yet.

22 psi on a vf39 on pump gas? Go easy on it. It's high compression remember?

I assume those are crankshaft hp numbers.

Glad you're enjoying it. Just don't go crazy. Just because it's built, doesn't make it mistake proof.

^^^ sorry that's on E-85 (it is strictly E-85 or E-98) no "pump gas" will ever touch this motor.

No that's AWHP numbers.

I will also post my cal for my AEM v2 so you can check it out.

I think so far that its FU**ING AMAZING (and I haven't even taped into its full potintial yet)

Because its HI-COMP it's peppy down low
Because it has cams it has a fat ass torque band
AND because its a MPS destroked 2.34L I have all the RPM I will EVER need.

AND yes I know I said it twice, but with a motor like this it deserves at least that.

500hp on the stock turbo I am trying for. After I hit it, my FP3586HTA goes on and 600+ here I come... maybe.

Not sure why, but I still want to check out your setup Kelly.

My ride is in the body shop now but we need to meet up when she gets out. I want a preview of what to expect from my 2.34. Does it really feel that much different than the 2.5L?

Thanks for the kind words, but you're high.
500 on the stock turbo? Not without over timing the engine and damaging it. Subaru engines are not efficient enough. I would suggest you go to a bigger turbo now and abandon the quest for 500 on a stock turbo. You're going to try too hard and break something.
