Will you guys be getting any videos of the car going at any point? That would be neat to see.

For maintenance on my car, here's the list I'm looking to tackle this summer:
- Essential: Timing belt and pulleys (prob water pump too while in there)
- Essential: Valve cover gasket and/or AVCS line and/or turbo oil return line (one of these is leaking oil and I get the well known 'burnt oil smell' through the pass side floor vent.)
- Needed: Struts - just trying to track down some stock/oem inserts but they're hard to find and everything is expensive. New top hats too
- Optional: motor mounts, shifter bushings, ball joints, steering rack bushings

Plus, I burnt through my summer tires last year thinking I'd be hooked up with new ones by now but no such luck.
Basically I want to keep this thing on the road and running good for a long time. I still haven't tired of it and love to drive it!
Hah alright, I figured you would, but im never sure hah

Yeah we should have videos, there's a video of our engine in the dyno and the exhaust glowing but it's nothing too special...soon.

Yeah timing is really important...I'd probably do that to my car but im unsure if my car will live till then. If it does its theoretically becoming a rally car heh

Do coils! (Aka, why stock?)

There's a few reasons for not doing coils - the two big ones are: living in a town with this kind of property tax is insanely expensive and there's still a car seat in the back for a little longer.

Here's a great how-to thread on changing the timing belt. It doesn't look too bad but people are saying it's an all day job: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1794043

I think my timing belt tensioner is bad because it sounds a lot like this:

I like the older wagons like you have (you said 98, right?). That'd be cool to see it turned into a rally machine. I've seen a few around that people have taken care of. I used to see a blue one travelling between Durham and Newmarket a lot - was that you? I think it had flat black wheels.

Ahh that makes sense then...a lot of sense hah

I love my car, sadly though, it's got...a lot of rust and a lot of miles. There's also a lot of things that need fixing (clockspring, steering rack, e brake needs adjusting, shifter bushings) and I've already done a handful...I was planning on doing a wrx swap this past Sumner but didn't save funds well so I figure when I graduate and find a job I'll buy something a bit newer and in better shape and start fixing this up a bit and make it a starter rally car

Anyone on here have the beautiful ALL black with red accents and red Rally Armor flaps 07-11 STi (I think it was an STi) in Newmarket? Saw it just off Main St. this afternoon and the thing looks super nice.

Hey Guys - I did the timing belt, pulleys, pass side valve cover and oil separator chamber gaskets along with spark plugs all the way around this weekend. If anyone is due to change these and needs any guidance, just let me know. Many of the frustrating parts are still fresh in my mind!

Does anyone locally have a spare, un-mounted rear sway bar end link (02-07 wagon) I could borrow to get measurements from? I'm gonna be getting access to a CNC plasma cutter & want to see if I can't spin up a couple of sets.
Any leads on where I may be able to get one are also appreciated. Thanks

Is anyone interested in meeting up at a high school auto show? This one is going to be nice and if there is interest i can talk to the person running it and see if i can bring you in. It will be benefiting the Automotive department there.
