People are trying to be creative and instead being stupid. But it isn't really crossfit.

Off day today from my normal routine (still p90x'in it up) but I decided to make use of my gym membership and go run for a bit. Put 4.5 miles down, and I was going to leave, but I thought to myself.. maybe give the ol' muscle up another go? I tried months ago and couldn't get it. After 2 attempts I nailed it! I am seriously proud of myself. Overall I did about 10.. best was 3 in succession. I didn't go crazy with it as I have a workout planned for the next day, but left really happy about it. Now that I can do it.. time to practice them!

Went back today after being off for a week. My legs/ass were too sore to go back. My box has an option to do one on one instruction instead of the class at 6am, so I'm doing that instead. I work in a restaurant and don't leave work until 10-11pm most days. I need more than 6 hours of sleep before a workout. Anywho, we did upper body today. I'm really happy about not being in a class right away, I get more motivation from my trainer. My arms are sore but not as sore as my legs were although I'm dreading the squats on Friday. I did 85 reps today, he had me max out reps on bench and then the same for pull ups with a band assist for 5 sets.

Finally back into the koolaid after a long injury-induced absense. I've missed it.

Taken at my box the other night...

So, leg soreness did go away. I've pushed myself so far that I shake after a workout because my muscles are so sore. What am I doing wrong? Also I'd like to see what others are doing for diet. If someone could write out what they eat daily besides "paleo" as a broad statement, that'd be awesome.

Don't over complicate a diet. I stick to a plaleoesque diet, as I think strict paleo is for the birds. It's really simple: lean meats, veggies, fruit and nuts. I still drink milk and eat a little cheese. I severely limit sweets and I limit grains. However if I do ever eat pasta or a slice of bread, it's wheat. And if I ever eat biscuits/pancakes, they are always made from almond flour.

Started following mainsite for two weeks now. Had to scale some of the more shoulder intense stuff but otherwise I am middle of the road, if not a bit fast, compared to some of the comments posted on the mainsite. Have done a ton of weightlifting (15+ years) so I guess that has helped? Too much beer lately, hate doing regular cardio, so I thought this may be a happy medium.

My rest days do not match up and would love a good Warm up site to follow for the mainsites WOD.

the only things i do on my rest days are either walking around the block, slow rowing for active recovery or simply play with my kids. however i also try to do mobility work on every rest day and for that there is only one site and that is mobilitywod. K star is a god in my opinion.

It was just a general comment. It is difficult for me to workout on the weekends, if not impossible. I can workout Mon-Fri though, hence the rest days not always lining up.

Any good sites for warm-ups?

I don't have a good site to recommend as far as warmup. What I do is pretty basic and depends on what workout I am doing that day. For the most part my warm up looks like this:

Run or row

If I do any squats that day, I will do some wall squats, spiderman stretch, pigeon stretch

If there are any shoulders involved, I do some overhead squats with PVC pipe followed by dynamic stretching and band stretching

If there are double unders, I do 1 minute of single unders followed by toes and heels walk

If there is any oly lifting in the wod, I do the bergener warmup.

Forgot to add that most warmups will include something like burpees, pull-ups, kb swings etc.. Again depending on the workout.

The crossfit FAQ lists the warmup. Main site sucks the last few years IMO, there are a number of gyms doing it better that post their wods.

+1.....Outlaw comes to mind. One of my favorites, along with CF Football.

True on both accounts. They SERIOUSLY need a marketing/PR firm.
