I've been getting some shipping quotes for my Impreza. I'm going to be sad for about 45 days. Apparently I found a quote for $2300 shipping from my door here in CO to Heidelberg, GM. Looking around a bit more to see if I can find better.

Thanks guys I just looked into CFR Rinkens and I will check out Uship tomorrow. looking like I'll ship out of Houston and fly back to CO. We'll see everything is hectic with not having orders and I'm supposed to have reported May 10th but I had to defer my orders 30 days which means I won't be there until June 10. Then I have to go to ALC in August or September. Great times for me

I want ALC!!! I would of made my 6 over a year ago

I used Rinkens too. It was $2700 BUT it was shipped in its own container cuz the trunk was full of car parts. That was them picking it up from my dad's house and delivering it to my post (my post has a VPC). However, I contacted Rinkens and they actually only charged I think $1600 and the rest was Germany in-land transportation and customs which I would of paid the VPC. I ended up going to Bremenhaven on a train to pick my car up. I paid customs at the port (~$450) and had all my documents and temp plates and drove a HAPPY 5 hours home I think I only spent like $300 in train ticket (~$180) and gas so essentially only spent ~$2300. It was much because of the private container though, otherwise car has to be "if it's not bolted down, it comes out" clean. I got a quote for shipping it back and it was $1650 from TransCar

^ I second this with rinkens. They picked up the vehicle, drove it to the port and put it on a boat for 1500 plus the fee that I paid at the port in Germany.

So my car failed inpection. they spent 1 1/2 hours searching my car for faults most were loose screws a a few missing bolts. the three that will cost me are removing tint from my rear lights, i got a noise on my rear brake area, i took everything apart and cleaned it, pads are new so it leads me to believe its the rotors, and battery tie down.

Ok I've sent requests through Rinkens twice now with no response from them. I might not ship the car until mid May now so I can plan all this out and at least have my car for work until I start leave. Trying to find other shipping companies and West Coast shipping seems like they have a good deal going too estimated just under $2000 for shipment until I get the real quote.

Check fb for the next one. Should be June 1st for the next trip to the ring unless you report after that. I can't remember

Just been having a rough time during this PCS.

Everything is going a little smoother I finally got my deferment of my report date to 31 May which is what I needed. I will be dropping my car off Saturday for shipment. It should arrive 2-3 weeks into June, which I will need to do some work on my car before it's ring ready. Still working on a front license plate mount.
