Ok, if it's not full up I may try to get in for the 15th if I can get the day off...Ken is going as well and his exhaust is louder than mine.

As one of the organizers/volunteer at some of these track days. Its pretty obvious if you are letting up past the dB meter then we hear you echoing down the back straights. We do black flag cars that are trying to cheat the system. Please respect the dB limits, maybe add an extra silencer.

Sincerly,
all clubs that host track days and want to continue doing so.

I think the specific db restrictions are up to the lapping group - I've seen 92-95 db range.

The let-off trick can be used (and seems to be quietly ignored) if you're very close to the threshold and the weather/track conditions are playing with readings. A stock 997 turbo will hit the limiter on a cool wet cloudy day...

Also keep in mind subjective noise readings: I think my 8000 rpm NA motor is louder than a 997 turbo BUT the db meter thinks otherwise

hope that helps

How far away from the car do they take the reading? 90db comparison would be a train whistle at 500 feet, or truck traffic. Curious what my car would have....any guesses?
Burns stage two with a resonator...N/A 2.1L with ITB's.

I seem to recall hearing that the dB limit is lower on week days than on weekends. I cant remeber the exact value off the top of my head.

our club measures at 50ft. perpendicular to the car with the meter set on "A" and "slow"

Thx for the info FocusOnMe...I wish there was a way to pre-test rather than go out and waste my money and take a spot someone else could have had.

I may give that a try...better than getting a few laps at a $200 plus event..
