Oh okay. Well can you document all the things that you do to the rear end? Also what diff you plan on using?

I already have a custom rear cradle with a nissan 350Z rear lsd differential.
R200 but is much larger than the nissan 240 R200.

Im going to run jdm sti rear knuckles and turn down my 350z hub to fit the sti bearing and redrill it for 5x100 bolt pattern. Then use 2 of the short side 350z axles.

How much would you charge to make another rear cradle?

Hey man,

I'm in the process of doing an ls1 swap right now (non turboed so your build ****s all over it). What radiator did you go with? Also how much did you drop rack all together?

This build is ridiculous. I check this thread nearly daily, flipping epic. This project got me into welding after seeing some of the work in your earlier posts. Fast forward a few months and hours of helmet time later and i just picked up my first TIG unit over the weekend. I think my 2009 is destined for a V8 swap now.

Really man, amazing work.

Its the radiator that was in the car when i purchased it, Mishimoto... Just welded on AN bungs both on the passenger side.

I don't remember off hand how far the rack had to go down, it was a good bit, thats why I ended up building custom A-arms and modified front spindles to correct the steering geometry.

Yup. I only dropped mine an 1 inch roughly. I mounted mine high. I was more worried about bump steer than hood clearance. I don't know if you've looked into my build at all. I modified a 240 sx rack to fit (more steering angle drift car ****) but with that I purchased beefy inner and outer tie-rods. Those came with the same piece your friend made to lower the ball joint location.

That's why I was curious about some of you modifications. Also, have you attempted to do your wiring yet?

Wiring is the easy part...Pretty straight forward. stand alone for the engine... then just wire the gauges up...

the starter / ignition wire is already in the chassis harness on the wirefall, along with the charging lead out of the fuse box.

But maybe just me, but wiring is simple if you have some patience. But I have wired a ton of lsx swaps and various honda swaps.

I also deleted all the abs system... and took out anything I wasn't going to use...

Also just browsed through your thread... the piece I custom machined were to replace the lower ball joint, ( i have custom lower A-arms to correct the steering geometry so I will have no bump steer). They aren't the same as yours for steering... You just have the drop down spacer for the tie rods which in fact really doesn't correct the geometry for the steering rack being lowered. your car will still have bump steer like is setup now.

Yeah I'm not that great with wiring. This is my first car I've ever done anything aftermarket too lol. So I'm really intimidated but the wiring. I have a local shop willing to do it for 350. Do you think that's a reasonable price?

Its an old one, put it on to find the correct size belt. I have a new one ordered and a new power steering reservoir, and bracket.

Just buy a stand alone from my friend Chase... ( chasebays.com ) buy the universal application ls1 harness. But they are simple hookup... Not sure what your price would be, I get a good hookup from him...

This is to clear up the steering setup on my car... Theres alot more involved than just lowering the steering rack...
When you do this it screws all the geometry up... why I have custom length A-arms and custom built cradle to fix all of this...
There isn't a easy fix by adding spacers... Here are three illustrations to help

To the first illustration.... you have to think , we are lowering the steering rack... just not lowering the ride height.... thats why the spacer isn't for our application. It would help if the car was just lowered... and the Steering rack in the factory location.

Thank you very much for taking your time to explain too me. I really appreciate it. So do you think I will have horrendous bump steer with my current setup.
