Ditto on the plug, get a brass 1/4MIP plug from a local hardware or plumbing store and wrap it in teflon. That thing will be in there tight.

Anyone have a bitch of a time getting the fans unplugged? Any suggestions? They're all slimy form anti-freeze.

Spray them lightly with carb spray. A small flat head screwdriver also helps to get them undone.

I got the CXRacing radiator installed over the weekend. Seems to be working just fine.

My GTSpec shroud no longer fits, however.

HAH MINE Just went this spectacular way too. I was in shocked.

Oh well, the car told me it's time to replace it, and timing belt (@109,500K) was going to see if I could make the record at 115K.

Guess I won't be All I need to do is pick up the radiator and water pump and I'm set.

Unhappy It happened to me also...

I thought these pics were from under MY hood today! I've also gone with a replacement all aluminum radiator from one of the links above, mine came with slimmer fans and "will" accommodate the existing hoses. I'll write back tomorrow after I do the install and let you all know how it went.

Ditto on the crappy OEM radiator . Mine was spraying from the seams @ 165K. Installed the CXRacing w/ cap (since I have 02" which didn't have one to begin with). Great fitment, and good quality . I have a Koyo in my rx7, and you can see just the difference in finish quality if you look reeaally close. It will get the job done though, and once it has seen a few miles on the road, you won't be able to tell the difference. Still can't believe the price. Less than $135 shipped to my door. Don't wait till your radiator blows, just get one.

If you have an 02" like me, just put a T in the overflow line and connect it to the radiator with some hose from your local auto shop. Don't buy the oem stuff for an extra 50-60 bucks.

are these things really that good? Even long term? My radiator just blew as well on my 02 at 101k. I was just going to buy a replacement stock one because I didn't want to deal with fan issues. Do the stock fans fit on?

I've had mine for over a year. No problems. And yes the stock fans bolt right on.

Stock fans fit on both just fine, just look up reviews on the forum. Only think you have to deal with is the radiator being a little thicker so you have to squeeze it in but I hear it's nothing to really fuss about.

I've had my radiator now for almost 4-5 years.

I had mine replaced after a front end collision and it started leaking after 1 month. Then I added the Subaru coolant conditioner (Holts RadWeld) and it's never leaked since.
