I bought an entry level Trek bike for transportation and I've been thinking about moving into a fixie type bike since I'm not huge on trail riding. What type of riding do you do?

I got a fixie style without the fixed gear. I'd kill myself if I rode straight fixed.

Maybe I will stop by with the new car, depending on what time I get off the dyno. Not a subie though

I split my time between the road bike and the mountain bike.

I HATE fixie bikes... BUT, everyone is telling me to get one for road training as they are good for certain leg training. I might convert an old road bike one of these days.

I never felt a certain way about them until recently. I like the style and how easy it is to get going fast. It is a leg workout if you're constantly pedaling. I rode two miles without coasting and pedaling my hardest. My legs felt swollen when I got off the bike feelsgoodman.jpeg

You think a fixie is fast? Try a proper road bike with actual gearing. There isn't too much of a top speed difference depending on how the fixie is geared, but it also doesn't take 15 minutes to get out of a light. Now that's fast.

Also, any sort of climbing on a fixie/SS seems like hell. The only fixie I'd ride would have at least a single break in case things get crazy.

Considering I fear hitting something and eating **** at the speed i'm going at, yes I do think it's fast enough for me Aren't proper road bikes a few thousand dollars? Screw hill climbing in fixie's lol, great leg workout though.

So now we can't talk about other interests? No wonder the thought of going out to this meet hasn't crossed my mind in months.

Lets get this thread on track and only discuss going to a parking lot once a week.
