Thanks man!
I don't remember the exact time jump for the video but to do all of the interior pieces was a little over 30hrs.

The dash probably took 5hrs including taking it out, covering and reinstalling.
Taking the pictures and videos always makes it harder to get an accurate install time. Sometimes a piece would be 5min to wrap but 25mins to photograph, lol

I was able to drive the 6hrs to the shop on the limp map without an issue. You'll want to take it easy (no boost) but you'll be fine.

If not, you could flood the motor/foul plugs as soon as you start it up.

Good luck!
Thanks!

Hey Jason, how you been? Hope all is well.

Had a quick question for ya, saw that you got a new head unit. How was the sound quality increase? And how responsive are the steering wheel controls?

Hey Austin,
Things are going well, finally getting some warm dry weather so time to put the wheels and tires back on!

I've have the Pioneer headunit for about 6 months already and It's much better than stock but definitely not mind blowing.
The stock speakers do really well with the power of a better headunit so you'll get at least double the volume and clarity but it's not a solve all issues if you are really into car audio. Of coarse a full build would be nice but for what I use it for, I'm really content.
I don't feel the quality of any of the headunits on the market today are that good to begin with so I didn't have high expectations. That would be my only suggestion is that if you add one, just know that they haven't made any improvements to the functions or quality since the late 90's

The steering wheel controls on the other hand work great. I use all of them almost everyday. The response it just as quick as touching the screen, probably even quicker. you loose the phone functions but add preset up, preset down and mute. That's totally worth it!

Cheers!

Thanks for the response! Glad your weather is starting to get better, time for more write-ups! (;

I was looking into a stereo as a next investment, but I don't wanna lose the "stock" look either. Definitely will be looking into this unit though, looks really nice just a bit expensive!

The Pioneer Z140BH was one of the best headunits I found that was available at the time. They've added some great features for iPhone integration which I use often, especially if it's jailbroken
The good part is that they've added these features to a lot of the other headunits that they offer including the affordable AppRadio's
Check out one of those, and using the forester trim surround I feel is much nicer than the JDM surround.

Steer clear of the AppRadio1. Stick with AppRadio2 or newer if you're considering them. AppRadio1 isn't iPhone5 compatible.

Unfortunaly i don't use an Iphone. Are the app radios conpatible with android? And how well do they work with nav etc.

You know what you said in your comments after that it really wasn't bad and honestly it wasn't. Coming from someone with only a little mod experience I would never pay a few hundred dollars for someone else to do that I'd rather get a 12 pack of good beer an just take my time

I'd really love to go, I miss it every year because it's our summer opening at work. Especially since it's even closer to my parents house and I wouldn't have to get a hotel.

Some day... I'd really like to meet everyone in the community too. I feel I've made good friends in the past few years but never actually met anyone in person. Cyber friends?

FINALLY I have something clean!!!
Having a daily driver does have its downfalls when it comes to keeping an engine bay clean, especially living in Maine. Since most of the engine work has been done over a year ago, the hood of my car is never opened. I got quite the surprise when a neighbor of mine asked to see under the hood the other morning and to my embarrassment, my engine bay looked like it was dragged across a beach and placed in my car. It was gross!

Last night I took my time and cleaned every part of the engine bay that I could without taking things apart. Using only warm water, soft brush and mild detergent I feel it was right back where I remember it last year.

That looks really great! I think I might have to do that tonight. Hopefully it warms up a little so I can use the hose. Right now it is snowing I'll probably just use Simple Green and a garden hose again unless there are other tricks I should know about.

BTW, take the Stance sticker off!

Yeah, I think that might be the right choice for just about anyone on a stock location turbo.

Had time for a nice afternoon shoot with the car before I take my winter wheels off for the season. They've finally cleaned the streets in the area so It's time for a wax and clay soon.

Cheers!
