Exclamation Help NEEDED, Any Ideas ??

Help! in the process of doing a v7 swap, struggling a couple hours to get the passenger side mount to fall into place. Me and my pops pulled the ej205 out using the diy and it went smoothly,Putting the v7 in was a different story.

The whole time my pops kept saying he thought the transmission was offset to the right. at first i thought he was just seeing things but it explained why we couldnt get the stud to line up.
once we finally did.... this is what we were left with

the dog bone isnt straight

in the pic above the timing cover is pressing against the engine bay

There is a certain amount of "adjustment" you can get from loose motor mounts. Other than that something has to be off. I'd loosen mounts, align better and tighten mounts down. Good luck

i will definitely try that. We pretty much "adjusted" the passenger side to get it to fall in place, now that everything is in, loosening it all at the same time sounds like a good idea,

after messing with it for the whole morning, once it was in we decided that was a good time to take a break.
Thanks for the idea. I'll let you know how it goes.

No luck. If anything the timing cover is a centimeter away from touching the engine bay now. Any other ideas ??? I wouldnt feel comfortable driving it like that.

I took some pics and tried to capture any areas of concern the best i could.

There is a certain spot where the driveshaft seems to start to look a little off, but im assuming thats just where it allows for "play"

hope the pics help

Something i questioned was why this one bolt was so shiny and new compared to the other

not the best pic

and lastly

Again i appreciate any thoughts or ideas. Thanks

Looks like your hanger bearing was replaced due to shiny bolt, not your problem. as long as everything bolted together trans-engine easily I can't see why this is happening. Was the car a wreck? Frame crooked? It's a long shot. How much room do you have on the other side? If its equal spaced that's all you get. Also check lower crossmember mount. This one adjusts a lot, if I remember correctly.

Did you get all new mounts and try tightening them down intermittently?

Dude that engine has got to move over. Try loosening all mounts again. It has to go over atleast an inch. Get a big bar and pull.

I would check around and on top of the trans for anything wedged against the car body or frame.

I forgot to Update, It was the passenger side axle causing everything to be pushed towards the driver's side of the car. It wasn't the right length. Not sure how he drove it that way. My uncle demonstrated, when I raised the vehicle up on jacks the axle shifted in some way and caused the problem. He said the same thing could of happened while driving, if the suspension had been allowed to travel the same amount.
