Default New to me 2002 Outback Sport

Hi guys, as the title states I just picked up a 2002 Outback Sport with 100k miles. It is going to be a daily driver, but would like to do a couple of mild mods. CAI, cat back exhaust and need to replace a couple of parts )Compass rearview mirror & in dash clock). I just kicked a CEL and I suspect it is an exhaust leak, so will start from there.

Wondering if anyone has any used parts or recommendations on shops to purchase these items in the lower mainland.

Thanks in advance and look forward to some feedback

R

I would check in the classifieds and on craigslist for used parts. I did have some good luck south of the border but looks like you want to stay local.

Welcome and have fun with your Outback! Post some pictures when you can.

Thanks for the info guys! I have been having a look on CL and also am in the NW US often, so I will have a look there too. Slowly build it up with good conditioned used parts, but want to make sure they are the right ones.

CEL turned out to be the front CC...not happy about that one!

What type of CAI do you have? How much were you thinking. I have been searching the site for recommendations and mod suggestions, so I appreciate any and all info.

I'm not sure if your car is MAP based or MAF based. But I have both.

I believe one of them is a cobb intake (or a knock off of one.. probably a knock off). It's not in the best shape but it works and sounds cool.

The other is a cosmo racing intake that has been modified to to be a hybrid intake that uses the stock airbox. This is a very good option for MAF based cars.

I'll have a look and find out which sensor it has? What are you looking for price wise for the CAI's? Cheers

Hey guys, still looking on CL for a few things and really appreciated guys being in touch to my 1st post

I have been scouring the forum for info on intakes, ect and looks like I have the MAP on the intake, so a CAI would work. Thoughts? How about the hybrid set-up?

Couple of other thoughts I have had is a used cat back and lightened crank pulley to add a bit of life to my daily family mobile.

Also looking for a replacement rearview mirror (Compass style), and a tonneau cover, and dash clock if anyone have any old parts lying around.

Thanks for the feedback and for people being in touch, really appreciate it. Jut trying to pick guys brain on some suggestions for this model.

Cheers!

Cover, tint, intake, swaybars, suspension, and wheels. If you have money to throw away, JDM body parts. My 2 cents. :P

Thanks for the feedback, looking for an intake and cargo cover at the moment. Suspension down the road for sure! If anyone has anything, let me know! Thanks

H Zefy, its a MAP sensor on the intake. Do you still have the CAI, I am interested. I'll send you a PM as well. Thanks
