Default Taillight issues

I'm not quite sure how long they have been like this but I'm sure it helped in getting a V.I.
I did a subject search and most of the answers were pretty general or vague so I'm hoping some one local here may have had to also deal with this issue.
Tail lights seem to be popping fuses, running lights and Brake lights. turn signals seem to be fine.
Running lights fuse was upped five amps (not that I'm fond of doing this at all) and seems to be fine, running lights are working up until i step on the brakes and then, pop.
I went through the harness at the rear of my wagon and checked the rubber tube guard at the top that leads to the upper third light, all seems fine and unbroken. Also changed out the bulbs to LED for a lower draw, stills pops the fuse. the only thing i messed around with was swapping the housing to factory then back to my blacked out housings after my V.I. passed.
Any ideas muchly appreciated.

Sounds like a short somewhere. Tail lights sometimes will go when the switch itself on the steering column breaks or has a bad connection. Check your grounds as well, make sure you didn't disconnect any and forget to put back.

This. I had a friend's integra which was popping fuses, and it turns out one of the wires he had going to his fusebox was frayed and shorting things.

Interesting. That would probably explain why my poor ol' Integra's driver-side tail light would keep blowing (swapped out about 3 of them in 11 years of service), and would usually be around the time of me smelling smoke in the cabin. Hmm.

Speaking of which, I've got some spare tail lightbulbs suitable for an Integra, completely brand new (unopened)...

Could just be ****ty electronics.

My DC5 kept blowing H1 headlights for no reason. I know H1s run hot, but to even kill the OEM replacement kind... About 20 bulbs in 7 years. Was rectified by putting HID retrofits in :P

Could be. Or because the bulbs were **** too.

Or maybe it just likes to see me work on it.
