I like your caliper color choice. Different but subtle. I just painted mine black last weekend; I couldn't stand the rust/ brake dust all over them.

Never-mind looks like the spt wont work as an axel back The current mid-pipe is a Y while the SPT midpip is straight and the Y is built into the mufflers

Ah yeah, I had forgot about this. You can probably get a custom flange done to your current mid pipe to make it it.

Thanks Slow.
Why even wait until you get new pots? The difference between not having and having the MC brace is night and day.

I don't auto-x, or even stop hard for that matter. Engine brake everywhere and have only had to use the brakes hard once in almost two years.

How would you describe the difference? I don't seem to have a problem with the feel as stock.

It eliminates the 1" of play before you actually start braking. When you brake it is firm and reassuring. IF you do need to brake hard, say an emergency, when you press hard your brakes "bite" hard. I noticed this especially with new aggressive stop tech pads.

+1 this, love these pads and I also agree with the 1" of play. Like he said now when I brake its very reassuring. Only downside for me is they dust my rims soo much. Might not be as much for others, I'll post pictures of what I'm talking about.

I hear ya, swapping them out now would mean tossing good hardware. But those EBC rotors look sooo good.

Maybe its not for me then, I rather like the bit of play. I'm sure its something to get used to but when I hop in a car with little to no brake play, I find my self kissing the glass and cursing that car. (11 Mazda 3)

If you don't brake hard on a regular basis, or take it to the track/auto-x regularly, then a MC brace is a waste of time IMO, DD light braking shows little to zero improvement, you only start to feel a difference the harder you push the pedal. I actually sold mine as I don't track the car anymore.

I got much more benefit swapping the fronts to WRX rotors, the larger diameter allows for the same braking force with less pedal pressure, and there's better heat dissipation (due to the increased mass) should you ever work them hard.

All this talk about brakes....I'm thinking of upgrading to hawk hp+ pads. Anyone on here run them?

I was thinking the same but wouldn't it be a nice safety upgrade? For those *oh ****aki* breaking moments?

I've had a few Oh $h*7! moments in my car, usually for deer, but sometimes for the odd huge raccoon, or giant possum, or moron teenager with their head down texting on a dark rainy street, wearing dark clothes, and walking right out in front of me.. yes that kid is lucky to be alive thanks to my eagle eyes and lightning reflexes! But during emergency braking, I was actually pretty amazed how fast the car can stop from 45 mph, or how much speed I can scrub off from 65 mph in one second before swerving to miss a deer, or something like that. I think that has as much to do with the fatter 400 treadwear tires than the brakes themselves, but for just one stab at the brakes, they work pretty well. Maybe a brace would help even more, but I'm not sure.

Oh BTW, remember when we were talking about PCV valves a while ago? This is what I was talking about when I thought that they weren't the same as they used to be. It's pretty good info in general though.

1 year old picture but I'd like to bring this back because I miss this trip. This was during my trans-continental roadtrip from NY to San Diego and back. 9/10ths of the way up Pikes Peak and I had to take this photo op with the car that beasted the entire trip.

^Thanks It was my 3rd time up Pikes Peak but first time with my scoob.

Here's a video I made with some footage of the trip. There's A LOT I didn't document. Everything was taped with my Contour HD.

I hope to be driving up Pikes Peak also in a few months! How hard on the car was it?

Wasn't bad at all. It was the first time I drove up it fully paved. It used to be gravel/dirt the 2nd half of the ride up. As you get higher in elevation, you WILL feel the car struggle. On the way down, just keep it in low gear and be easy on the brakes and you'll be fine.

Just get ready for altitude sickness. If anything, the ride will be harder on you than it will be on the car lol. It's funny b/c when you get to the top, literally half the people will be face down on tables in the cafe area because of intense migraines. Oddly enough, I only started to get the effects on my way down.
