Cool eastern canadian member

hi there...am a very new newbie...matter of fact haven't picked up our 2013 impreza touring yet should be able to do that on april 19th. colour is ice silver metallic. although it is peppy we want to "punch" it up a bit more. is the "chip" worthwhile?

i chose the the cvt version over the stick as my wife is recovering from a broken neck and is just back to driving after a two hiatus so felt this would make for an easier transition. she is an "spirited" driver for the most part having taken three mosport advanced driving courses. i didn't feel the wrx would be best for her this time so went more docile. the next one maybe so however if we add some performance acc, then we may be able to get what we want down the road without having to go the $$$ route of the wrx.

we are older but are young in our thinking and doing. I SKY DIVE (730 jumps) bungee jump, (37 locations all over north america and canada) zip line whenever i can and white water wilderness canoe and rafting all over the world as well as long distance motorcycle touring....my wife is a fourth dan black belt Hokkaido practitioner and a former olympian.

i was hoping to see much more activity on the eastern canadian side of things..hopefully it will pick up.

Hi Boberstski,

Welcome to the forums. Unfornately there isn't much you can do the 2013 N/A impreza as of right now.Cobb should be releasing a tuner for the vehicle and a full exhaust wouldn't hurt also. I think you're best bet would be a good set of tires/rims and possibly some suspension modifications to make it more agile on the street. Goodluck!

Cool nice

thanks for that shano...there are a couple of "speed shops" in the area and i'll check them out. i guess some 'soft' mods would be alright to start. we'll try it out stock for a month then try your suggestion about the tires and exhaust, and suspension...
i saw on one of the aftermarket sites there may be a power chip available....do you think it is worth the try or would it cause havoc and tuning problems?

we're planning a trip out to calgary to see our son in june...anyone out there want to try a get-together and show us some good roads less travelled?

i'm located in scarberia...

What "chip" are you interested in?

Beware of any cheap "ebay" chips, alot of them are just a wire with a resistor that essentially does nothing. Real tuning usually comes from some sort of handheld device such as a cobb accessport. There are other methods aswell (opensource).

But keep in mind "tuning" is alot easier to extract horsepower out of turbocharged vehicles than N/A. You could probably extract 20hp or so with bolt-ons/tune. But other than that you won't get much more without forced induction. Another way to get better power is to reduce weight... which I doubt you would want to start ripping your 2013 appart.

Cheers!

Hi, I am located between Ottawa and Montreal. Does any one know a site or place to buy aftermarket/stock parts beside the ridiculously expensive dealerships? I just got some bumpers and skirts from the WRX to put on my 2.5i but the rear bumper is missing the 2 side skirt pieces on each sides...and the car is going for paint on Monday :S

New member here! Just got my 2010 2.5 Premium 5 speed 5 door. Love it! Black inside and out and I tinted the windows. I'm in Toronto by High Park and also a TSC member (with my TSC logo on the hatch!)

I would like to do some upgrades but have no clue what i can do to it without screwing things up. Anybody upgrade the base model imprezas before ? Any ideas?

Depending on what you order, my suggestion would be to have it sent to the UPS Store in Ogdensburg, NY. Its about 40min south of Ottawa just passed the 401. I order all my parts from US companies (free shipping, no tax) and then pick it up there. PM me if you want more info.

There's a lot you can do, have a look at the N/A forum. On mine I've put a short shifter, mudflaps, raised the suspension by an inch, WRX catback, HID retrofit, and lately a NAVI system. The best bang for the back are good tires though.. OEM ones suck.
