"... the reason Subaru's do so well in rally racing is the hydro-dynamically dampened center differential."

I was at the base auto-hobby shop and this guy [I see him there regularly] starts talking to his buddy explaining why Subaru beat Mitsubishi in rally racing. He owns an old-time Mini Cooper and a C4 Corvette.

Was at the Costco gas station when an older lady in her 70's walks over...

Lady: that's a beautiful car. I love the color
Me: thank you ma'am. I love it to. Not many youll see this color.
Lady: wow it's nice. I bet the car is fast. It has that big pipe out the back....is this a Buick?
Me: (lmao) no this is a Subaru wrx. It's a fun car and I love it.
Lady: do you race it a lot or all over?
Me: no I rather not get a ticket to lose my security clearance. Have a nice day ma'am

Sweet old lady but I laughed so hard when she was so confident of it being a Buick lmao

No offense to Subaru, but Buick does make(imo), the greatest turbo car ever. Not that that is what she was insinuating though...

My dad had a Grand National. Awesome car. I had to be 10 when he had it and I was scared to get inside, it seemed so fast. Sounded awesome too.

The new regal isn't 100% terrible either. They did make them wrong wheel drive, at least all the turbo ones I saw were fwd and none awd. The seats are nice too if you have 32" waist or smaller, but can't beat the original gnx

Yes and no. The regal is out and it can come turbo but fwd. there was/is suppose to be an awd too but never saw one while I was working at dealer. It's 4 door and smaller too, so it's nothin like the original in looks

Edit: on topic, as I'm leaving work my boss told me my car sounded like someone farting in the bathtub.... I have nameless muffler delete.

I would have told them to go ahead. Can't get a ticket for a stock exhaust, but you could then get him for harassment.

This made my night last night at a small local meet:

The guy rolls up in a bone stock Cobalt SS with an BOV that apparently (and magically) makes 300 WHP with no other mods and no tune.

Guy: "Yo my bro has this Subaru not like yours but like that one (points at a 04 STi), he sent it to some shop... uhhh Subaru of America, and they put 20 grand in it and it's totally awesome."

I decide to play nice and start thinking about numbers in my head..

Me: So like.. a Cosworth engine, a roll-cage, and some suspension?

Guy: No just a big roll cage, it went through the firewall into the engine bay.

Me: Ahh sounds cool *shut my hood, walk away*

Gentleman: Is the that 2014?
Me: No its a 2011
Gentleman: Oh. The 2014 has 400 hp.
Me: Umm ok.
Gentleman: Is the a Sty sti st something
Me: Do you mean STI, and no just the WRX.
Gentleman: Well the sti has 400hp.
Me: It actually has a little over 300hp
Gentleman looked at me like I didn't know anything.
