Default 97 impreza obs jdm ej20g sti swap

Whats going on scooby fourms im in the mix of swaping my 2.2 with a jdm ej20g. I work on cars all the time an know my way around a shop but I normaly play with 90-99 eclipse 4g63 dsms but picked up the impreza a little over 3 years ago an has been a perfect daily driver started every time an had ice cold a/c every thing worked! One day I thought my clutch went out ended up being the pivot ball threads stripped out. Did some homework crunched a few numbers an found a 96 JDM front clip with rear subframe had it shipped to my house an started the fun.

The day I thought my clutch when out, at my buddys shop changing the struts.

Got the front clip an started the tear down.

After looking over the motor I was very pleased with the front clip I got. It had 75k on it all the belts an hoses are fresh an its the v2 555 edition so it came with all the jdm goodies!

Out with the old in with the new.
ej22 out

Walbro 255

Sti subframes swapped

I hit the car with a pressure washer it was a little dirty on the underside. This thing loved mud puddels an dirt roads. Pulled out all the ABS lines I was going to bend some new lines for the ABS delete but found a local parting out a 95 impreza that had non ABS score

LHD rack cleaned an installed

Sti ej20g an trans in

Im still new to the scooby world so if any one has any tips feel free to point me in the right way but so far every thing has been legos. The wiring looks sweet cant wait If any ones has a good link for the JDM wiring post it up please.

I got a lot done on the scooby the last week or so, swapped the usdm power steering pump an a/c compressor.

Picked up a set of 02 wrx rims

Ebay 3 inch turbo back.

What you know about that SPEC-D!

The local I got the non ABS parts from told me about robtunes for ej20g an swaping 02+ coil packs. After checking out his website I knew this was some thing I should get since we only have 91 octane in the desert.

04 sti coil packs an injectors

A few cuts hit it with the solder gun an shink wrap an bam!

We are starting to get to the good stuff folks!

I got my wire harness back from iwire. So far I think installing the harness has been the hardest part of the swap. I didn't take many pics of it coming out so I wasn't sure how it went back in but a hour or two you start to figure it out.

With the top part of the dash done time to start routing the harness into the engine bay. At this time I also replaced all the A/C orings since the originals were black plastic clips by now.

Torque solutions dog bone.

Picked up some new parts for the race car.

Apexi intake

Forester buckets.

Subscribed! Good luck with this project! Sounds awesome! I have an old 97 OBS, if time and money and a big garage allowed I would love to start a project like this.
