Hey Everyone so i just got this 04 wrx the guy who i bought it from lives in PA. so here we go i tried to get the car to pass NYS INSPECTION they told me 2 of my monitors, Evap and Cat, are not ready so i called him up to let him know wast going on he tells me the owner before him has a STAGE 2 tune on the car so in order to pass i need to go back to stock well i did that with my buddy's stock 07 STI parts but i need Someone's HELP on here if it's possible can use your AP to flash ECU back to stock so i can pass. i will pay you. it has to be a 04 AP NOT ON 04 STI AP if you live in Syracuse let me know if you can HELP till i can save up 595 to buy my own AP and it's Sedan > 2004 thanks

an ap can only return the car that it's married to back to stock. if your car is tuned with an ap and you don't have it you have to leave it alone or get a new ecu.

Not entirely true. All you have to do is in marry the accessport from the car it is married to then you overwrite the tune on the second car with any tune. Them you unmarry it from the second car and now the car is back to stock and the accessport can now be reinstalled on the original car.

are u sure it was tuned with an accessport and not opensource? would save ya alot of time and money

Your problem is more than a tune. Are the cats still on the car? If not, depending if your mechanic is going to do a visual check, you either have to replace the cats or disable the codes.

The evap could be as simple as a bad gas cap.

Find out what is causing the codes and then fix it. The AP can help you because you can disable the error codes, but you may still have a problem to solve.

I replace the gas cap Already So I put the car in test mode and check this is what I found P1518 p0851 p1153 p1152

I can get the car to pass Without a cat I know the people and they won't even check for it

Mine passed no cats at all. I bit my tongue when the technician said "maybe we should do a visual check on this one?"

Thankfully they didn't and I rolled right thru. Randolph NJ DMV
