Default Enkei 17x9 +45 rpf1 & bbk

A lot of people say with the flat face rpf1 on a +45 offset 9 inches wide you will barely have any brake clearance. I purchased some anyway, hoping to get away with some 3 mm spacers.

I drive a 9-2x aero with a wilwood 4 pot bbk upfront. My rpf1's came in the mail today and I'd like to say I had plenty of clearance WITHOUT a spacer. The wilwoods stick out a half inch from the wheel mating surface of the hat.

I'm not saying these will clear brembos, I know that they stick out a lot but perhaps with a small spacer they will.

Great thing is these are becoming less rare in 5x100 thanks to the brz/fr-s (which is what these will be going on in the fall along with a wilwood 4 pot kit!)

Pics:

For those interested tires are nexen n7000 235/40's

The Wilwood BBK is smaller than stock Brembos. The 17x9 +45 RPF1s definitely do NOT clear Brembos without a spacer.

the problem is with Brembos and Stoptechs, in my mind only Mach V 17x9 wheels clear those calipers...

but these RPF1s looks sweet, swede_ish!

The Mach V wheel definitely clears, but there are a lot of others.

Which is what I said in my post, "not saying these will clear brembos" but they aren't a wheel to dismiss when considering a larger than stock brake kit (for wrx). And who are wanting a light wheel these are 15.9 lbs a piece w/o tire. Not to forget rpf1's with a flat face are simple but sexy.
I'm almost certain the 6 pot wilwood kit will fit under these too. Going to measure after work later.

spacer needed to clear 4/2 pots (wrx06-07)

5mm is required to clear 4 pots.

The Subaru 4 pots are that wide? That's crazy.

I have a 06 wrx wagon. Running factory strut and cobb springs. Test fitted rpf1 17x9 +45 just now. Took some paint off the 4 pots and there is maybe 3/8 inch clearance on rear strut. Will 3mm spacers clear or 5mm minimum?

The issue is where they're wide. They're wide close to the hub. These are 15" / 16" wheel brakes and some 17" wheels end up with the caliper well inside of the "spoke pocket". Check your pic with the Wilwoods, even those brakes are towards the inside of the "pocket". Put that same caliper 1-2cm towards the center of the rim and it won't clear either.

The 6 pot Superlite Wilwood kits will clear just about anything. They are narrow calipers and narrow pads and are offset about as far as you can, they're good for spoke clearance. The original kit used narrow rotors too, but now they have a 332x32 kit that is much better for track work than the old 328x28 kit.

if you don't put spacer, at least 3mm, you can tight the 5 bolt correctly and you can turn the wheel..

3 mm have 1 mm clearance
5 mm have better clearance for my taste.

i certainly didn't expect these to NOT clear the FHI (non-brembo) 4-pots. thats unfortunate.

i have the FHI 4-pots with 17x9 +44 Work CR-Kai. plenty of clearance. but i know, different wheel, different spoke design

well only the STi guys will care about that. theres MANY more WRX guys that want something in this size, that clears brembos, in a 5x100 bolt pattern

Was finally able to fit 17X9 +45 RPF1 with 245/40/17 on the 2006 Wrx wagon. 3mm spacers all around cleared the front 4pots and the rear strut on just Cobb springs.

Will the 4/2 pots clear these on a '12 wrx?

I would assume he needs to be rolled because I had a +42 fitment on 17x9 grids and it needed to be rolled (9-2x)

Thanks! Getting all four corners rolled this weekend. Just running Cobb lowering springs for now. Gonna see how she drives and rides before getting coilovers. Looking into getting the ST coilovers if I decide to go that route.
