Default 2013 Sti noisy ac as car warms up, normal?

I just got my 2013 Sti last week and have noticed that when the car is warming up the ac compressor makes a loud whine. Not belt squeak. But as soon as the car is warm the compressor it totally quiet. Is this normal? I had an 03 bugeye before this and never heard my ac making that noise. Any advice would
Be great. Just wondering if I need to run by dealer to check for problems or if a noisy ac when cold is normal. Btw I'm in so cal so it's not cold. Just when the car has not warmed up yet.

I would take it in and have it checked just to be sure. Better safe than sorry.

The Air pump (located right by the a/c compressor) will make some noise when you first start the car for a few seconds.

Thanks for the replies. I'm feeling better if I know what I'm hearing is just normal operation. I took it in and service mgr. heard noise and they documented it for me just in case. But, they say that noise is normal and everything is working as it was designed to. So no worries for now and if something goes wrong at least i have proof I was there before. .... Happy modding, rhino...

My 2013sti does not exhibit the same behavior as you described. I do however hear the air pump running for about 30 seconds when I first start the car regardless is the A/C is turned on or off.

My 13 sti with 3700 miles also creates that sound upon first start up. In my research, nothing to be concerned about. I was also initially concerned. Houw do you like your 13?

The first time I noticed it was right after I changed my oil and I thought I messed it up
