Default Oil temp gauge reading high!!!

Just did an oil change on my 2003 wrx with 117xxx have stage 2 map tbe and upipe.

Used Mobil synthetic high mileage and a Mobil oil filter.

I changed my oil before and it never did this i put most the bottle in but not all of it. Since it takes 4.8 and I had 5.2 quarts of oil.

Let my car run for 10 min then took it out for a drive noticed after 5 min of driving my oil temp was crazy high . It never reads over 90 I have the factory gauges. Someone helppp

Was it hot outside? Letting your car idle for 10 minutes in hot weather would yield pretty high temps I suppose. How hot was your oil temp gauge reading?
