Default Low idle and oil lght flicker

having a problem with low idle(250- 500) rpms anw oil light flickers when i step of gas to increase idle light goes off.... how do i increase idle ? i tried to adjust the throttle cable slightly but didnt want to mess it it much. i just replaced head gasket. checked to possible vac leak but only one i see goes to the brake booster unsure if there is another vac im missing? any help or insight would help greatly..

I had the same symptoms in my eclipse when I spun a bearing.

Default oil flicker

yeah i just rebuilt eng from a spun bearing ...... was working fine for 250 miles then the hyd tentioner bolt sheared off throwing off timimg and smacking a few vlvs which i just replaced all vlvs and put heads back on.

Could just be an idle problem if your lucky. Any engine will lose considerable oil pressure below 500 rpm, so its normal to see the oil light flickering then. Does the engine make a ticking noise or knock?

Are you sure timing is set correctly?
