I would highly doubt it because all Imprezas (even base models) are offered in a manual. In fact (according to what I'm seeing on the Subaru website) you can't get a WRX or STI in an automatic. I think that Subaru knows that doing away with stick shifts would be a huge mistake. That's why I wouldn't worry too much.

There will always be more automatics at dealerships because they sell better in the USA to people who aren't car enthusiasts like us. People like to be able to drive without having to worry about their RPMs, their clutch, or their cars rolling backwards. Although manuals are much more fun to us and can get a little bit better fuel economy, most consumers prefer automatics.

actually thats not true. you can get wrx in an automatic as well as the sti. they are offered overseas because as always america never gets any of the cool stuff.
