As a matter of fact the BRZ muffler fits like a glove. It has the 4 OEM hooks for the rubber hangers. Once all 4 are on, the muffler looks perfectly at home, just like if it came with the car. And it would not be seen from behind the car at all. From the bottom it looks like OEM factory.

I've definitely seen how clean it looks with the stock hangers, a beautiful find btw.

I just meant to bring it up higher that it would need to have the exhaust cutouts in the bumper.. Or are cutouts just needed for fancy tips?

Sounds good! Looking forward to the results.

Smile The Cut-Outs are needed.

The cutouts are needed because the tips fall behind the bumper cover. When the BRZ hangers are used it sits perfectly on the stock location. The tips actually will need to be moved OUT so it can pass the bumper cover. I am removing the stock tips and replacing them after I extended the pipes a bit. I will post step by step pictures on that mod. The custom work takes a lot of time then it has to be Cerma Krome Coated.

I can only tell you by personal experience that I do get more pep out of this tiny 2.0i engine and I can only Imagine what I will get once I install the header and the rest of the custom exhaust.

I am not a racer and don't pretend to be one either, just a little more of that Subaru rumble will suffice my expectations of this gas saver Impreza. If I wanted that race car feel I would HAD purchase the WRX or STi or even the BRZ for that matter. My wife's XV does feel like it has more pep.

It's not in Subaru's interest to gear you to any aftermarket system. Unless it's an SPT equipment that would benefit their pockets. LoL
I joined the forum just because of this photo.

Where did you find these headers and have you installed them yet?

Opinion?

I just recently got into modding and things of that nature. I just picked up my car from the shop where i had a pipe custom made to fit my 2.0i. It run straight from the cats, no resonator, no muffler. Sounds great, really loud, but great Subi sound

I'd like to hear some of these exhausts driving away from the mic instead of just revving. It gives a better idea of what it really sounds like.

From my understanding HP come from CAI, aftermarket/custom exhausts, turbos, protunes, cobb makes crank pulleys that frees up hp, or you can machine out your engine block.

Just go to cobb, you just need to get someone to install the pulley on your engine block. they will fit. get a protune by any dyno in your area. I had my exhaust custom made and i do have better acceleration in the top end of my rpms.

You can find a cai from injen. Ive seen a picture of one on a sport 2.0i but i havent seen it on the website. may have to request it.

What is the actual size of the muffler casing, as well as inlet/outlet size? I was wondering if one could simply weld in a Dynomax or something? I've used them of a few cars before with great sound output..

I believe it is 2.5" for the pipe itself. IDK about the muffler casing

Someone on these forums left their car at k&n to see if it was worth it for them to fab up a cai, and the guy came back saying they aren't going to make one because there was no positive result by installing one.

did ur 2.5" piping start at the cat? I remember reading that the the pipe before the resonator is 2.4" but I haven't confirmed it..

Also, how's ur low end power with the larger diameter piping? I was planning to do mine in 2.25" starting before the stock resonator position (deleting it).. Looking forward to hearing more about ur setup.. Thanks!!
