There are usually Snell/FIA ratings you must meet, but I've certainly never heard of any size restriction. That would have the opposite effect by forcing people to wear unsafe helmets, or at the very least, would be discriminatory towards people with tiny heads.

why? Tiny headed people would be screwed... Or people like me... I barely fit into a xl helmet...

And like everyone else said, HANS device is overkill and meant to work in a safety system. Cage, seats, harnesses, hans. Hans devices are meant to stop your head from snapping forward in a front impact. Normally the harness will hold the rest of your body in so the only part that can bend is your neck, so it breaks...

Being that you have stock belts your body is able to pivot forward at the hip and hit your face on your airbag so no snapped neck... yay!

A thing to look at when purchasing fire proof goods is the rating. Most of the cheap stuff is SFI 3.2A/1 which is only rated for 3 seconds of burning. A good reference is this:

Actually that whole website is pretty good...

EZ-UP tents are at walmart for cheap. Probably not much different than amazon.

there was a thread here not long time ago and people were mentioning at least L size helmets being allowed but I think they meant no motorcycle helmets allowed.

So what's the Snell rating that will let me drive on most tracks?

i think most places are still allowing snell SA2005 but I'm not sure. I know places here are fine with it but I don't think you can really buy SA2005 anymore. Everything should be SA2010 that is for sale now.

And yes, DOT helmets are typically not allowed.

SA is the automotive rating. Sometimes, clubs will let you use M-rated (often in non-caged cars only), but SA is preferable in a car accident.
