I see seems like not a easy task, the thing is its not so much that i want to run a usdm wrx ecu, my problem is i have the ej20r engine harness but i cant find a diagram or matching dash harness for it, that's why i was thinking if i run a wrx harnesses if would be easier for me to go standalone.

Anyway you think if I send you some pictures of my gear you'd be able to let me know if it can be done?

Default Sorry..

Hate to bring back an old thread but unfortunately this one seemed to be the one that seemed to be most on topic so here goes. Im a new member to Nasioc here and joined due to a little project ive got going on currently, namely an EJ20R swap into a 1996 Legacy Brighton wagon. I picked the engine up VERY cheap a few days ago and the car came from out in BC, so it had next to no rust on it. now before i go about ripping the EJ22 thats in the car already i need a bit of help locating some parts: namely the black box of doom and i believe i read i also need a vacuum canister of some sort, neither of which came with the engine. beyond that i know ill need a higher powered fuel pump (looking at a Walbro 255, as it seems to be the go to pump for most of these applications) and i believe also a WRX front subframe/cross member. Is there anything im missing? and does anyone have some suggestions on where to look for those black boxes and vacuum canisters? any help would be much appreciated

The black box of death will be hard to locate, and i believe you need a modified wrx sub frame. For the driver side up pipe, and you then need to modify that to miss the steering linkage and brake booster.

Unless you convert to single turbo. Then everything usdm wrx bolts up on the exhaust side and no need for the black box of old vacuum tubes and valves.
