I certainly enjoy it. It's just so dumb it's great.

I've been seeing a lot of weird things lately on AR15s passing through that need repairs. I had a BCG come through where the gas rings were GONE. Just gone. I have no idea how that happened, but they didn't exist when I got it.

Also had another one that had not had the inside of the BCG cleaned where the bolt sits for the life of it, which had seen about 10,000 rounds. It had so much carbon buildup in it that I had to soak it for a day in cleaning solution and work on the pile of crap with a Dremel.

Moral of the story: clean your guns thoroughly! Or bring them to me when they get messed up and I'll make them run again. Mu ha ha ha.

hey everyone im new to guns and shotguns so i picked up a Remington 870 and took it to the indoor range i couldn't aim it very well cause the earmuffs the range had where big so i couldn't put my cheek on the stock to line up the sights. i was wondering is their like a stock that slants more down then the factory stock or do i have to get a adjustable stock (i don't want one). or do you think I'm just holding it wrong(I'm probably am)

also the stock is kinda long i would like a shorter one like 2 or 3 inches shorter any clue on how to narrow down my search engine instead of "short stocks"

oh yeah i like pistol grips but i want a stock with it.
oh has anyone seen a shotgun with the stock folds on top of the shotgun does it just float up their or does it clamp in place while on top?

i don't like earplugs.

my shotgun doesn't have rear sights so aiming maybe difficult. im not adding a rear sight so i should just add a laser? and whats the point of the shotgun having only a front sight

Let me run through this one at a time. I'll be numbering your paragraphs for you.

1.) There are literally thousands of aftermarket stocks for 870s. Google search and you'll see. Also, why were you aiming down a shotgun that only has a front sight and resting your cheek on the stock? Don't do that. Shotguns kick a ****load more than rifles, so you'll hurt your face if you're trying to rest it on the stock.

2.) See number one regarding different stocks. You want one with a shorter length of pull. Make sure you know the length of pull of whatever stock you find and like.

3.) Again, see number one. They're out there. They're pieces of crap, but they're out there.

4.) Wut?

5.) Why would you want a rear sight for your shotgun? I take it you have an 870 tactical. You should post a picture so we can see what you're working with. You can get rear sights for your shotgun, but you know that a shotgun is called a "scattergun" for a reason, right? They're not for being surgical on a range. They're for spreading out a lot of flying death particles. So why would you need rear sights on a shorter barrel shotgun?

The word "accuracy" has a different meaning between shotguns and rifles. Lasers on shotguns are pointless, because it's a damn shotgun.

Yeah, so was I, initially. Then I thought of some of the crap I've been allowed to do in low rent indoor ranges. There's an indoor range outside of Houston that does not give a crap what you do.

It has good ventilation because of all the holes in the roof from people bringing in full autos.

Target Masters in Garland allows it on the pistol range. Let me tell you it sure makes it fun when you're in there trying to shoot a pistol

Okay Gun Gurrus, need some advice.

Been looking for a gun to display along side my HK USP .45 in a new lighted case i'm ordering. I want something that can hit at least 75 yds away, is practical in home defense and will hold it's value.

The top of my list is the HK USC .45. I thought it would be great all around plus it shares the same ammo as my usp so i can hord up on some .45 ammo. I read that a UMP conversion is a mid level mod that can be done which is a nice touch.

The other options would be an AR or M1 carbine variants. I like the practicality of the AR but the value and long range of the M1 carbines. My worries are the AR's price right now and holding their values once the politics shy away. And with the M1 carbines there ins't much options and I have been told they can be pricey for range days as far as ammo.

I'd like to stay under $2000. Any feedback, input or alternate options is greatly appreciated!

Here is a link to the official HK page (Not a purchase link) for reference.

AR15 prices have been back to normal for at least the past six weeks. Plus, with all the idiots selling the rifles they paid exorbitant prices for back at the start of the year, you can find some really good deals on them.

If you're trying to stay under the $2000 range, you won't do it with a USC, and especially not with the UMP mod. USC prices start at two grand and go up from there.

With your price range, you'd be better to go with an AR and modify it how you see fit. Going for any specialty type of weapon like a USC, SCAR, FAL, etc. starts you higher or very near your max price.

Thanks Spider Pig, i will keep a look out for some good AR deals. If I were to come across the USC under $2k without the UMP mod for now, do you think it's a good performer? Do you know anyone who has had experience with it?

Dear FBI, I already own a gun, I just had my greencard application approved yet again, without an interview, why do you always delay my processing?

lol

Props to Spider Pig for being a cool dude though! And I can always bear waiting another day.

How is an AR platform practical for home defense without being an SBR? Wouldn't an SMG (also an SBR) be a better option? I still think claymores and shotguns make the best home defense.
