Default Anyone want a Pro-tune, but don't want to drive far?

Here is a link to the event, http://www.mysubie.com/event?id=1452
(This event is still TBD)

I am trying to gain some interest and create a list of those drivers who'd like to take advantage of this opportunity. (Personally I didn't feel the need to get my car done in Michigan by some slightly LESS reputable tuners, with not so great reputations) I could have just as easily driven out to Chicago to get my car tuned or even stuck in the Detroit area, but there is a reason I DIDNT.

I just drove around 1,200 miles from MI to CT to have my car tuned. It was well worth it and I'd consider doing it again. Lucky for you lazy butts, the owner Paul is considering driving out to Michigan to tune a whole slew of Subies.

Whose interested? Paul is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, tuners in the US.

Only a few interested so far, so date is still flexible. I'm thinking this will be an end of summer thing, unless we gain a ton of support fast. Please let me know!

If you need more information on ECS, here you go http://www.eastcoastswappers.com/

I believe the tuning will be done in Romeo, Michigan.

What? No, this is a full service Professional, in person, tune. Im sure he is using Cobb AccessTuner software.

He will be renting an AWD Dyno and doing all of the tuning at another businesses facility in Romeo, Michigan.

Bump, with more info. Here is info directly from the ECS site. Prices may change, I doubt they would EVER go up, I'm actually hoping it would be LESS considering it would be a GroupTune.

Please note that tunes do not include the COBB AccessPort unit. But, if you buy it from us you’ll receive $100 off of your tune!

COBB Tuning Pricing

WRX / STI / EVO – Stage 1 / 2 Map $375
WRX / STI / EVO – Stage 3 Map $425
WRX / STI / EVO – Stage 4+ Map $500
WRX / STI / EVO Speed density tuning $600
R35 GT-R Protune Map $900
MazdaSpeed 3/6 Protune Map $500
Each Additional Map (same day only) $300 for GT-R / $150 others

I need more interested people to get a tune, if I don't have a list of 10 in the next month I might just abandon this BA idea.

Im surprised it's so hard to find a group of interested, not flaky, subaru owners in the Mid-West who need a tune!

Its never too soon haha! Personally, even if you don't get a full on dyno tune from Paul. I definitely recommend buying a used or new Accessport and running a Cobb OTS tune. The tuners I have talked to say the stock tune is prone to ringland failure and I've heard just about everywhere, that the stock tune is unsafe to run WOT because its such a terrible tune for your car.

Just something to think about, you can find used (un-married) AP's all over here and other subi sites. I found mine for $350-400, then the Cobb OTS maps are free too!

I'm pretty sure Accessport voids your warranty on powertrain though :/

Far as I know, unmarry it & reflash your ecu and it would look as if your battery died. Some dealers look at it differently as well.

Do some research, but I deemed it a small risk worth taking.
