Default 2011 headlights?

So I am looking to switch out the 2012 WRX headlights with the 2011's since I don't trust myself painting mine. I have found a website that has the 2011's for only $360.50 which is an awesome price compared to other sites. I emailed them to see if they are new and original. I just got their e-mail back letting me know they are brand new and that they are aftermarket and built to the orginial manufacturer's specifications.

So does this mean they are the OEM ones and just not directly from subaru or are the made second hand and possibly cheaply?

Theyre probably just like every other headlight and tailight you see on ebay. Usually dont fit 100% perfect and youll need to add extra silicon to seal them up before they start to fog up. Give it a shot and let us know how they are.

gonna necro this thread because out of curiousity I ordered a pair.

They run $250ish for the whole pair and shipping is free, showed up quickly, came with the correct bulbs even though they state they dont come with bulbs, look to be every bit the same minus the 3 rubber plugs in the back of the housing meant to keep moisture out and the fact that other than the DOT ratings they dont have any brand label on the lense. They are made in Taiwan so I am expecting them to fog or have some sort of defect at some point like premature hazing.

I mainly did it so if they suck I'll just bake them, possibly retrofit them as a project or take the lenses off and swap them onto another set of OEM 2008 headlamps I have on at the moment that have hardcore DRL hazing on the inside of the lenses.
Those things I picked up for $75 a pop and after I refreshed the lenses I noticed the hazing I saw was on the inside rather than the outside of the lense and decided not to screw with them yet.

Anyways stay tuned for any updates. I might even just turn both sets of headlamps into retrofit projects with different set ups for my own amusement and make a thread for that (would still need to refurbish the OEM 2008 lense though :/).

Update:
Took one rainy humid day for them to fog up a little. noticed while installing that the glue job could have been done better and the glue they used is not the greatest stuff. But I am not mad. they unfogged within minutes of pulling into my garage probably due to the 3 vent nipples they have.

If you are just looking for the 2011 look and dont feel like trying to get a deal on OEM units or taking your chrome ones apart this is a cheap and easy solution.

At some point I might bake them and use better glue that is rated for headlamp use but right now i am satisfied.

hope this helps anyone who stumbles across this thread.
