Default Would anyone be interested in a stealth clock pod mounting solution?

So in searching around for a stealthy solution to mount 3 gauges, I stumbled on a few threads where people linked this picture and asked where to get it, but nobody knew.

Well as it turns out, they are manufactured and produced by an Australian company called Streettuned. Gauge Pod - Subaru Impreza WRX/STi (01-07) - Mounting Pods - Gauges & Pods - streettuned.com.au - Car Parts | Performance Parts | Accessories & More!

I sent them an email asking if the gauges point straight ahead or if they are angled to the right, and it turns out they are angled to the right. HOWEVER! The good news, he is not opposed to making a LHD version!

Now I know there are DIY solutions out there, personally I would LOVE to have a puspose-made, no hassle, perfect fit, quick and easy STEALTHY solution. What do you guys think?

I like how this looks compared to others with the tall hood over the top. I know the 08+ WRX/STi guys would love a solution like this, me included. I would of went with something like this rather than the cluster bezel pod installed in my car now.
Not sure if i like how that right hand gauge is partially obstructed, or maybe its the angle of the photo? If it is partially obstructed, it would limit what gauge is installed at that position. In a LHD it would be the left gauge with obstructed view.

I think it looks really nice. If they were reasonably priced, I would pick one up for sure.

Depending on price I would snag one for an 05 wrx! Not a big fan of the hooded raised clock pods and settled for the ATI gauge cluster bezel pods

I would love to have a LHD version for my 07! The big hoods are always such a turn off when I look at gauges

I'd get one but he has that listed at $156 bucks!!! And I'm sure if he's making a LHD version, it would only cost more.

Yeah, hopefully it would go down if there's enough demand to make a pile of them. Though I paid $120 or so for my SMY 2-gauge bezel setup and the fkin thing doesn't even fit properly.

Sorry to hear you had bad luck with the SMY. I started a thread showing my ATI cluster bezel install and the SMY vendor replied to the thread seeming to be upset that someone was in competition with him.

That does look really nice. The thing is, have you ever driven with a hood less pod? They can't be obnoxious at night, and hard to see during the day. I have defi gauges, and I'm sure they wouldn't be as bad during the night, my buddies prosport gauges turn his windshield into a blue abyss

Now do they make something similar for the 08+ models? The only center pod i can find is the ATI pod, which has a god awful fit.. ):

I might be down if we can get that price down a little bit. It looks like a great alternative, but not for that price

If you look at the clock pod location on the 08+, it is different than earlier years of WRX/STi. I think that is why manufacturers are having a hard time coming up with a solution that looks and fits good.

Yeah i get it. ATI had the right idea but the fit of it is just horrible. You could buy the ATI pod and then reform it but ehh.

There is a thread exists where it looks as if someone used an ATI pod and then Coachworks did the dash including the pod. Looks real good, but I don't think I would be willing to do that just to make the pod look good.

Yeah I saw that one, I would do that if I was going to do the whole dash conversion. Which I might, just a lot of work lol!

I have been looking for an alternative such as this for some time. If anything comes of it, PM me and I'd be in. Perhaps if enough people show interest we can get a better price.

That looks totally hideous IMO. The OP's photo looks like it could be nearly stock, that is an abortion.

I do believe he is.

I like yours SubieYourSelf. Its a great job at DIY. The only thing I would change is add a texture to the outside to make it look more uniform and next time around make sure the gaps are exactly the same. Thats the OCD in me.

Unfortunately, you were not.

The biggest issue i see with the OPs pod is sunlight. I have a hard enough time seeing my gauges in their Autometer pod with large hoods. You would need some sort of hood over those in order to see them in the sunlight, and if you have to do that, why not just use a standard pod? I think it's a great idea aesthetically, but it might be impractical in use.

I appreciate it guys, believe it or not he's the only one I've talked to so far who doesn't like it/want one lol... And about the texture, you'd be very surprised how well it actually matches the interior. The color isn't spot on because its only black plastidip but it is too dang close to bother freak out over it because believe me, I have a bit of OCD myself haha... But anyways this was my first and only attempt at the project and I have a few more stock clock pods laying around so I'll trail and error to perfect my design

Oh and by the way, I know it's not "stealthy" or stock by any means but it is a lot better than the giant hooded blind spots you can buy online lol
