I'm still baffled how a drive-by-wire car doesn't have easily integrated factory cruise control.

i think I am going to make an appointment with the dealer to have them check out my A/C. it cycles on a few times/minute when on the highway and I can feel the engine bog down/release the load, it is annoying. i read through the subaru document on A/C and it is a cycling system, just seems like it cycles too much

I've had the same situation/problem since the start. I went to Subaru to get it checked out and they said it was normal. To confirm this, I took another impreza they had for a test drive and it did the same thing. The bog down is quite noticeable when your paying attention to it.

Yep, happens in mine too. Im used to it now. I actually turn off the AC when accelerating, esp from a stop. ...but im anal about saving gas so this is probably unnecessary.

even with my tint it seems weak when it is 90+F outside. I'm going to make the appointment. at 85 and cooler I have no complaints other than the bog down

In case you've missed it, I've got writeups for both my SPT Catback Exhaust setup and my BRZ/Impreza Exhaust setup for my 5-Door Impreza. Both on my blog: All We'll Drive

Damn. When are the aftermarkets going to come out with a similar set up that takes care of the issues you ran into with cabin noise but still have an aggressive sound. Nice blog.

Thanks, man. Yeah... I doubt there will be aftermarket stuff for the Impreza. There's much more of a following for modding the turbocharged stuff.

On the one hand, the new 4th Generation WRX coming out as a MY2015 should get some compatible aftermarket parts available. On the other hand, with the new WRX only being offered as a Sedan, us 5-Door guys won't have as many things to utilize as the Impreza sedan owners.

Well I drove a 2013 2.0i this afternoon and it was pretty great. I will probably get one of the base models or a premium. Either way, I am going with 5 speed.

Sport premium ftw. I was debating base/prem/sport trims and financially it made sense to just get a sport as it had everything I wanted for less than optioning out a lower term level

The Sports are very nice. If I could snag one for a good price, I would definitely consider it.

One thing I found interesting was how little the clutch pedal is released before it starts to engage. Not a criticism, just a bit different. I really liked. It brought back fond memories of my dad's '92 Legacy Wagon. That thing would probably still be on the road if a little old lady hadn't t-boned it.

every car is different regarding clutch engagement and feel, personally I have no problem with my suby, though installing the perrin short shift adapter at the shortest throw made a huge improvement imho, along with an early change to Amsoil severe gear in the front differential (also transmission case) and rear diff.

Default Aha Infotainment

The Aha infotainment looks promising. I also read about it in Drive and I'm looking forward to try it. I've downloaded the app in the mean time but I haven't had much time to play with it.

This link also has a video:

Everything as specified, the amount added in is up to the top plug in the rear diff (about .8 liter) and the front is 3.5 liter (or what is in the original write up), there is a dipstick (where you fill the front differential) to check the fill level once you are done.

You are supposed to use a thread sealer on the drain plug threads, I used anti-sieze, haven't had any leaks

Meh. Stick a Nexus 4 or iPad mini in the dash and call it a day.

Do you know if I can order that part specifically from Subaru? Or would I have to get the entire fog light assembly?

Nope... that's just a blank that's installed if you don't have fog lamps.

You'll need #17.
