Default Headunit please!

Can anyone with aftermarket head units please post pics or suggestions. I just want new speakers and a decent head unit capable for HD radio. My wife has a 2014 Mazda CX 5 and her sound system is bad ass. HD radio sounds incredible compared to my stock junk. I love the car but the sound system has got to go! Thanks in advance.

Here's what I did:

The speakers I got are a little weak on bass, so I'm considering adding a sub at some point. I'd also like to do some sound deadening at some point.

I got the Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS. It has HD Radio.

See: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/AVH-X5500BHS

I got mine off Amazon for $360 instead of the $500 shown on the site.

It really brings out the full potential of the stock speakers...not that they're great but they sound much better with the new head unit. Now I can hear all those vibrations that weren't there before replacing the head unit. I will probably add some sound deadening to the doors b/c they vibrate like crazy right now.

With this head unit and harnesses from SVXdc I was able to keep the center console aux and USB plugs along with the steering wheel controls.

I've decided on the pioneer avic z140bh with an audio vox backup camera and pioneer 6 1/2s. I will post picks after the install is complete. For the record I do search but didn't find much out there to choose from as I'm going with the recommendations of a local car stereo guy. He has his own shop and is doing this for under a grand. I don't do the smart phone thing so I don't need the newest, most expensive unit but his one seems solid. Also I asked him about the backup camera and he said that that the audiovox unit is one of the more solid ones for the money. Thoughts or opinions are welcome and expected as we all have them.

So you're happy with your pioneer then? I figure it has to be worlds better than stock and the reviews appear to be solid for the most part.

So far both pioneers have had no issues even the 8400 especially since the first batch had a defective wiring that caused the touch screen to freeze. Pioneer fixed the issue and I had purchased the updated model so can't complain. I don't watch movies or dvds much so that doesn't get used alot, hd radio well its radio and it works, I pretty much stick to all music on usb thumb drive. No one can really hear you on bluetooth when going 75 but thats more the noisy interior of the car than the pioneer unit itself. so far so good

I have an AVIC z110bt from 4 years ago or more. You cannot go wrong with their flag ship series. They have the 140 out not. It looks real good. Only thing is they are expensive.

I'm lucky to have an inside source and get all this at a decent price installed. Hopefully it won't be to difficult upgrading the software for the GPS. Should be good times though.
