The best part about having a Subie is the way you can personalize it and make it your own! Those covers are nice! Can you do interior parts too? That is a good idea for the interior dash and middle console too.

That's why I did mine too! It's an easy thing to do IMO. But then again I build subaru's every day lol.

Got my LEDs installed today.
Pro tip: Grab a socket wrench and remove the mirrors from the car, so much easier to work the wires through the base. |

For those who are looking for a connector that will work I ordered a set from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/130973509645...84.m1497.l2649
The smaller connector fits into the LED housing. |

trying to apply this to a new Crosstrek. I'd like to know how to remove the mirror outer covers and if it's possible without removing the mirror from the door. TIA

There are more economical places to buy the connectors I recommend here buy the 2P090WP-MT-SPB 'special B' female half. <-- corrected All the stuff I used is fairly available I can post the rest of the parts (really just green wire and the AMP terminals for the car side plug) if anyone likes most of the value I added was I have the right crimpers and bought stuff in bulk but those things are no big deal for a one off you can improvise the crimping. I did this to my crosstrek today. Only issue I had was the male terminal in the set posted in another forum too big to put in the oem harness from the mirror that connects to the harness mounted on the door. My solution was to find the proper wires, 1&5 positions, snip wires from harness connect them directly and PROPERLY. used heat shrink and taped properly. The connection is on the door panel side so I'm assuming there shouldn't be much/little water traveling through there. So I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Great advice was given about testing with 9v battery. You must find out which is + /- .... Last edited by njwrxman21; 10-12-2013 at 11:35 PM. |

Any idea which wire to tap into for marker lights and not just turn signals?

If you are interested in that, there are a number of little units for sale in Japan to convert the signals to do this, work as marker light (position light in JDM speak) until you activate the signal and it will then blink. (here is one example) |

Has anyone retrofitted JDM ones yet? I don't want mine anymore.

Definitely interested in these and a projector retrofit. I think it's ridiculous prior impreza models received the projector option and the 2012s have halogens.
A few questions: 1. I may have missed it, but has anyone purchased/installed the "JDM" power folding approach light equipped mirrors and have them working? What about the auto dimming? Can we get all in the same mirror? (Power folding, approach light, auto dimming, LED turn) 2. Does the possibility of the XV Crosstrek LED tail lights bolting up without much issue exist, or has anyone tried it? (I only ask in this thread since someone posted it previously) |

The crosstrek tails bolt right up but the connector (also a six-pin) is different. If the pins themselves are the same you can just de-pin and swap connectors. Boom done. I plan on cutting a set open and painting that nasty chrome piano black. |
