I can use bluetooth and just have my music from my phone play through the car speakers but thats about it. I cant get into the apps on the AP3. im so confused. its still unhighlighted. I dl'd all the apps on my phone such as the keyboard, the Appradio app and the carmediaplayer

Just purchased the AppRadio3 SPH-DA110 (non CD/DVD version)
Bought the Pioneer CD-AH200C. This was just a waste of money as I could not get the AP3 to recognize my phone. After much research, I realized I NEEDED to use the OEM specific MHL adapter from Samsung.

That worked, it let me recognize my phone, and now the pandora app from AP3 plays my music without having to touch my phone.

Here is my issue still
When I click on "APPS" on the AP3, it goes to a black screen with a white dot and says, connection has already started, and that i need to go to the menu on my pioneer compatible device. Then it says "confirmation- retry or cancel"

It wont let me see any apps from the AP3.

Currently, everything on my phone is mirrored to my Headunit, but I can ONLY control it with my phone. In otherwords, If I open up Spotify from my phone, itll open on my AP3 as well, but I cant use the touch screen on my spotify.

Any help?

I'm going to try to do this from memory here....
  1. Turn off vehicle
  2. Disconnect device
  3. Turn off Bluetooth on device
  4. Turn on car
  5. Go to settings on radio
  6. Select "type" (forgot name of actual menu item but its the first option IIRC)
  7. Select "other"
  8. Turn on Bluetooth on device
  9. Connect device

If that didn't work PM me your phone number and ill call you this evening and walk you through what I was trying to say there.

Planning to make a short video of the AR3 with my iPhone 4S tonight. Any feature/menu/app requests?

I, for one, am glad that all the painstaking research paid off.

Yeah, I just use a toggle switch. Quick flip whenever I start the car and its good to go. Ill make a little wire diagram tomorrow for you. Hopefully video will be up tomorrow too.

Are you using the pioneer app or ARLiberator? If ARL, you must be rooted to send touch screen commands from the hu to the phone.

They're working on it. It's available for your phone, as that's where it's installed.

Check the app radio forums. Best info & testing is done there.

Crappy diagram, but parking brake wire from the radio to a toggle switch to a chassis ground.

Just buy an electrical switch like this one,

Gardner Bender GSW-11 Heavy Duty Toggle Switch, 20A 125VAC, Single Pole Single Throw, ON-OFF, Screw Terminal:Amazon:Home ImprovementGardner Bender GSW-11 Heavy Duty Toggle Switch, 20A 125VAC, Single Pole Single Throw, ON-OFF, Screw Terminal:Amazon:Home Improvement

Connect the parking brake wire (mine was green) from the radio harness to one of the screws on the switch. Add a ground wire from the switch to a chassis ground. I connected my ground wire to a screw when you open the glove box. I then drilled a hole in the back of the glove box and put the switch in there. That way the switch is hidden away and I didnt have to a drill a hole anywhere noticeable if I ever do away with it. If you want pictures or anything just message me.

sorry to sound like a dumbass, but can u show me a pic of how u did the wiring. I really dont know anything with wires... but ill try to explain it back.

So the green wire is currently tapped into the ebrake wire (as instructed. So instead, i just just cut that green wire and add one end to the toggle switch. Then add another seperate wire and attach it from the toggle to the chassis bolt. what about the other end of the green wire? messaging you

There should be no other end of the green wire. What he said is exactly the same as the wiring diagram I posted.

If by other end, you mean the end connected to the parking brake wire just tape it off. It won't be used anymore.

Has anyone used the Axxis steering wheel controller w/ the AppRadio 3 yet?

I know on the AR2, you couldn't get the phone buttons to work. Just curious if anyone got the phone buttons, and more importantly, the "Push To Talk" button working w/ Siri or Google Voice.

Just thinking about this... Why again did I buy the AP3 over the AP2???

Sure i can wait for arliberator, but I was under the assumption i could run pandora and all the apps via bluetooth (aka without a hard connection via MHL cable). How is it any different than the AP2 then?

AR2 can't stream audio through bluetooth. That is the biggest difference. There are some little interface differences that are improved in AR3 as well.

You can listen to Pandora, Spotify, whatever you want on the AR3 without any hard connection. You can control SOME of it via bluetooth but not run the actual apps (why were you under that impression?).

Well i know bluetooth works but its very limited with spotify. Pandora app still needs hard connection to makel it work fully on the headunit touchscreen. I just think would have gotten the ap2 instead if I redid it all over again

You got it from Crutchfield right? Return it. Get the AR2. Wiring harness is the same. Just unplug the AR3 and plug in the AR2.

For me personally streaming Bluetooth audio was a very important consideration.

I don't think there is a Crutchfield Store, you would have to return it to Crutchfield directly.
