Impreza GC8 2.2 from 1.8 swap info needed

Ok so i pick up a 95 GC 1.8 awd 5speed two door and the body's id give it maybe a 7.5 . The engine has bad compression only good in #3....#1 and #4 about 50 -60% no compression in#2 So long story short new engine. Well i found a 2.2 from 95 legacy is it plug and play or do i need other parts. I know i read some where it dont take much. But that was probably 3years ago

If anyone knows of a thread explaining parts needed that would help a lot

im sure theres a bunch of thread and people will flame lol. its a subaru forum.
But i did the same swap and use it in the rally car as well.

remove 1.8
install 2.2 use the 1.8 intae manifold complete injectors and all, it bolts right on. use the factory engine harness as well from the 1.8, you may need to change your exhaust manifolds depending on the style. also make sure that the ignition wheel (behind the crank pully) has the same count of teeth on it as the 1.8 if not just put the 1.8 wheel on. and tada it plugs and and runs. ;-) maf cars are easy to do lol

^^^ This is pretty much all you gotta do.

A leisurely afternoon of wrenching.

You can do some swapping to use the 2.2 manifold, but I liked the 1.8 mani on the 2.2 better.
