I have a 2004 sti that was protuned a year ago. No issues until recently where the car will not hit target boost. Im thinking my grimmspeed boost controller died. All vacuum lines attached to wastegate and ebcs are in good shape and connected the same as when it was tuned.

Mod list includes :

accessport v2
hta68 8cm
dw 850cc injectors
walbro 255
grimmspeed ext wg uppipe
tial 44 mvr ext wg
gms fmic
gms inlet + maf hose
1 step colder plugs
tgv deletes
cobb catted turboback
cobb sf intake
grimmspeed ebcs

Both datalogs recorded in 3rd gear from 2-6k rpms under WOT

Well its not my EBCS. I called Grimmspeed and they walked me through testing it with a 9v battery. Solenoid clicks so problems gotta be elsewhere.

My external wastegate has a 10 psi spring in it and thats all it will boost.

I've contacted my tuner but any additional help would be appreciated.

I know you said that your lines are hooked up properly, but just to make sure, I'd replace them. One may have a pin hole and only be boosting waste gate pressure

Good idea, I'm thinking its a boost leak now. Ill report back once I have it tested.

Cars fixed. Turned out that the grimmspeed boost controller was hooked up in a way that overwhelmed the solenoid. I rerouted all the vacuum lines the way that grimmspeed recommends and problem solved. Not sure why my tuner hooked the lines up how they did (nothing on middle vacuum hookup and no connection to turbo inlet hose).

Since the pressure in the BCS lines is what opens the wastegate, a leak would make him overboost, not underboost.

Good to hear you found the problem.

I'd LOVE to see a dyno graph of your set up! I was highly contemplating the HTA68 8 cm.

Ill look for my dyno sheet, I made 304 whp / 349 wtq on a dynojet 424. If I were doing it over a different intake and catless dp would have gotten me another 15 or 20 hp apparently.
