Are there any aftermarket 100% recirculating DV's that will hold 20-21psi without leaking?

at those levels of power (375whp+) most people decide to convert to speed density or a MAP based system, which can allow the use of an atmospheric BOV.

I think most is a very strong word...i think some is more accurate. Honestly, SD setups really weren't all that common until the last few years or so...

Sorry for going off the subject here but i wanted to find out if anybody has used the new billy auto boards from billyautoboard.com ? my brother gave me one with the rally pig for my 2012 impreza but im afraid it is going to burn my bumper if the exhaust gets too hot.
heres a pic of what he has on his car.

^^ Why would you even post that here? It's not even in the right section and that quote has absolutely nothing to do with your response. If you really want some opinions you need to start a thread here or do some searching instead of posting it where it clearly doesn't belong. IMHO that is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen put on a car anyway.

If you tuner cannot supply a tune for a BOV with a MAF tune, Then find another tuner. There are over 30 tables and settings for the MAF/load systems that can be adjusted so the BOV is not an issue. Fly by night tuners only know of the maf table adjustment and they consitantly tune that wrong and they do not have access to all of the tables. They think that what they see is all the ecu has.

With SD, You still have to tune for the BOV. The air is still missing as you vented it out to atmosphere. Hence, the need to two maps with SD for venting open or recirc.

I am sorry there are people on here that know 2% of ecu tuning and act

If you have any questions, contact me via email.

Good luck.

C

I had the HKS SSQV on my stock wrx when I was younger. Need to say less, It was a terrible idea and returned it to stock three days later.

The only blow off valve I would consider getting is the GFB respons hybrid BOV. Doesn't sound ricey and still has the ability to adjust however much you want to vent to atm.

Quick question though, if I installed that bov on my WRX and later found it to run like crap, if I set it to 100% recirc would it work just as well as the stock bpv?

Idk, someone needs to talk me out of getting one... lol
I'll probably just get the cobb sf intake first and get tuned for that and see how I like the sound and go from there

I have recently installed the GFB respons on MY06 wrx and yes if you're not happy with the VTA then full recirc feels just the same as the OEM bpv. I highly recommend it.
