Default Aem wideband o2 sensor

I currently have a po0031 code for a bad afr sensor on a 09 wrx. Would replacing it with this product take care of the cel as well ? Or is it just a gauge?

You need to replace it with a stock sensor.

You NEED the stock O2 sensors. You cannot replace them with anything but OEM replacement parts. The AEM can be added on (welding another bung in the DP) but it runs as its own stand alone unit (just a gauge in your terms).

Ok thanks thats what I was getting at.. It is after all just a gauge. Would having a bad AFR sensor cause what feels like a loss of power / hesitation mostly noticeable at higher rpm (above 4500 per say) ?

Yeah.. and do it long enough with a bad front 02 and you can kiss your engine good bye.
